Bike Riding Computer Guy.........

Gonna try my hand at fixing a friends computer.

Evidently, it has some sort of virus and more then likely has some adware/malware/crapware on it as well. I'm not sure what'll I'll find or if I can even fix it but if I can-it will save him from spending money getting it repaired.

This computer is so locked down I rarely see any banner ads, pop-up or pop under ads, google sense ads or even half the ads in most webpages. Nothing can modify my start-up list, my host file, install anything or phone home or anything else unless I am dumb enough to give it permission.

I got the Blaster worm when it came out and learned my lesson. I run Spyware Search and Destroy, Browser Hijacker Blaster, Ad Aware, Microsoft's antispyware, Norton anti virus, Outpost firewall, Crap Cleaner and I use a router.

Sure, nothing is foolproof-but I'd rather be safe then sorry. Or at least as safe as possible.

How small is small? How far is far? Find out here.

I like the way this guy thinks.

Saw this over on Cycle Dog's blog. Papers please? I don't like it one bit.

You want to see some nice pictures of the Colorado sunrise? Ptelea claims she's an amateur, but she has some pretty darn good composition skills. I like the way she frames her shots. And she has a pretty good blog as well.

Talking about composition...........here's a composite picture of the Earth at night.

We have 2 kids to send to college. This won't make them or us very happy.

I know a few of my fellow bike bloggers are really into not driving cars. I'm totally cool with that, but as long as I can afford the gas-I'm going to drive because I feel that if I rode every where I needed to go-I'd have way less time to spend with my family. I use my vehicle as a tool to save time. If I could save time riding a bike to work instead of driving-I'd do it.

Maybe if I had a car like this-I'd be able to spend even more time with them. 1.4 million bucks? 1002 horsepower? Over 200 mph? Mmmm, maybe that's a little bit of overkill.

Don't get me wrong here, I enjoy listening to Enya, but I think she oughta lay off the black hash for awhile. A new language? Whatever, I'm sure I'll enjoy her new stuff.

Bush sends out free turkeys. Or not.

Here's another site that links to me, I always try to return the favor by linking back. Thanks!

Lots of Google Maps. For all kinds of things.

Gonna go read the new Circuit City catalog before I hit the sack, thanks for reading.

Sunday ride.............

I cheated.

Instead of riding the Surly, I hit the easy button and rode my Cannondale R500. I think it weighs less then 1/2 of what the loaded Surly does.

Here's a rough map of the route we did. It was right around 50 miles, all I can say is.........I slept real good last night.

Once we got over to Lancaster, the roads we took were really nice. The weather was overcast at 45 degrees with a damp chill in the air so I was fine as long as I kept moving. I think the next long ride-I will wear my booties, my feet were a little cold by the time we got back.

I didn't get the chance to take many photographs, I don't think it would have mattered much-the light was terrible anyways with it being so overcast.

This is a purple gorilla at a mini golf place here in York on old Rt 462. Looks like he's saying "You best step off before I hurt you"

I like riding down Rt 462, it was the main drag before Rt 30 went in back in the early 70's. All kinds of old barns, houses and cottage style motels. I'll take my camera on my next solo ride, I promise.

That's about it for now.....thanks for reading.

Huntin'

This week we are going into is one of the worst sales weeks of the year for supermarkets. Here is PA, lots of folks go huntin' including about half of the male staff of where I work. It's gonna be a slow week.

I've never been hunting and I don't ever plan to go.

Now, if I could mount a small machine gun on the handlebars of my mountain bike and shoot a deer that way............nah, I'm just kidding...........there ain't no way I could shoot a deer.

I don't have anything against hunting but from what I've heard, to do it properly, you go to a cabin in the middle of the woods, drink beer, play cards, fart and watch TV. The actual hunting part is only 2 or 3 hours in the mornings and involves sitting very still in the freezing woods to wait until a deer walks by so you can shoot it.

My idea of fun out in the woods is to either hike or bike on the trails and shoot pictures of things that interest me. An ideal vacation would be to get a cabin in the woods, drink milkshakes, eat pizza, play cards, fart, watch some TV and ride bikes.

I used to work with a guy that goes hunting every year with a bow and arrow. He almost always gets a deer and the meat feeds his family for the entire year if he's lucky. Gotta respect that. To me, that's what hunting is all about.

I know I blather on about all kinds of stuff, does anyone have any holiday shopping horror stories? I stopped in to where I work to pick up my paycheck Friday afternoon and some lady at the customer service desk was chewing the managers face off about something being priced wrong by 10 cents , I thought she was gonna pop a vein.

I mean seriously, 10 freakin' cents? Holy crap, why ruin your day over 10 cents because as it turned out........she was wrong anyhow, because the manager looked up the price on the computer and it scanned correctly. I would have loved to film the whole episode and been able to play it back to her. Life is too short to worry about 10 cents.

When I die, I don't want them to play back my highlights film and have a segment where I argue with a clerk over 10 cents. They might have a few clips of me giving motorists the finger when I got cut off on my bike or telling someone they are an asshole but I'm okay with that.

If she woulda been nice-the girl at the counter probably would have just given her the ten cents.........

Two quick stories...........

I took my mom shopping for a laptop computer earlier this year. We saw a very nice unit at Sam's so we bought it, when we got it home, it wouldn't boot up so we returned it. Through an unbelievable comedy of errors (mostly ours, but Sam's messed up too) it took the poor lady at the counter a good half hour to process the return. Sure, we coulda been pricks but what would that had proven?

It goes back to that old saying.... "Smile and the world smiles with you, frown and you can kiss my ass" ...or something like that.

Second story....

We give out free cookies to all the kids where I work. I had a young man about 7 years old interrupt me last night at work.

He said "Sir, may I please have a cookie?"

Hell, I have him two to eat on the spot and a 3 or 4 to eat later. I told him that I really appreciated his good manners.

Moral of the story...........be nice and you might get an extra cookie sometime.

Ummm, this guy might have a different way of looking at things. Totally and I mean TOTALLY not safe for work-every other word is f**k. Why put a link up to this asshole? I put it up to remind ya'll that the internet is forever. Can you imagine this guy's grandkid's finding this in a couple years? I'm sure he'll be proud.

I listened to a PBS podcast of this guy trying out his cheat sheet, it really works.

I know I have a few British readers........you guys have to pay for a TV license? WTF? If that was the case here in the good ole USA, we'd have a revolt.

Don't ask me how, but I got 1544 on this game.

Don't do drugs. Also don't wear a pink trucker hat instead of a bicycle helmet. SFW until the last 5 seconds..........and then it's not safe for work due to language. Oh, one more thing-if you don't have a sense of humor about religion............skip this one.

More holiday cheer. Nice.

What it's like to work at Google.

I call bullshit on Microsoft. I think they knew they had a problem. I cancelled the 360 preorder we had because I don't wanna pay 400 bucks for the privledge of being on Microsoft's R&D team. Maybe we'll get one next year after they figure out what's wrong.

30,000 page views and counting.......

Doing this blog for the past year or so has been a lot of fun for me. Granted, 30,ooo page views ain't that many in the grand scheme of things considering that there are lots of blogs out there that are way better then this one......but thanks anyways for reading it.

I had a great Thanksgiving.

No not really, I slept through everything.

Being a 3rd shift person in a 1rst shift world kinda sucks hind teat when you have family gatherings at what are normal times for normal folks but having dinner at 2 PM for a normal person is like having it at 4 in the morning for me.

Kind of hard to understand unless you work the crazy hours. I intended to take a nap before heading over to the in-laws and it turned into 8 hours of sleep. I guess I needed the sleep.

Whoops.

Anyways, it's about 5:30 AM Friday morning as I write this and the shoppers are out in force. I'm having a hard time getting my head around the concept of opening up your store at 5AM because you have an awesome sale going on.

Wouldn't it be just as awesome at 10 AM?

All I can say to all those folks that got up at 4 AM to go shopping today is one word........

Internet.

Try it, do some research and I'll bet you can beat just about any price you'll find in a retail store. And you won't have to worry about getting run over by some distracted shopper in their 3 ton SUV.

Am I baggin' on the whole consumer "buy, buy, buy" thing? Yeah, maybe a little but how come we can't have these awesome sales all year round?

I'm a awesome person, why do I wait until December for a awesome price on something?

Hey, what do I know, I just make donuts for a living.............

Thanks for reading.

Thanksgiving....some folks are assholes-some aren't

Everybody should have to work retail for 2 weeks in their life and those 2 weeks should be the week around Thanksgiving and the week around Christmas.

Why?

Just to see how it feels to be treated like 3rd class citizen.

I'm usually a fairly positive person but I do have this observation..........

Some people can be real assholes.

Some shoppers need to get a clue-if you go shopping for your Thanksgiving dinner at 3 AM to beat the crowds...........you are gonna see lots of empty spaces on the shelves. So don't be pissed off at me because we're out of your favorite bread and pumpkin pies and I don't have all the display cases full of product-it's 3 AM for God's sake.

Come back at a reasonable hour. When would that reasonable hour be?

.......after I've left for the day works for me. Maybe I am just grumpy.

Sorry....... but the holidays have lost so much of their meaning in the past 25 years. Now it's all about buy, buy, BUY and screw everything else.

What a load of bullshit.

I have a friend that lives with and takes care of his mom and every year he invites all of his co-workers that don't have family to eat Thanksgiving with him and his mom. Louis, you and your mom are what Thanksgiving is all about my friend...........

Mmmm, bypass that nasty filter at work. Not that I encourage such a thing:-)

Here's "social engineering" at it's best (or worst)

This might be a problem if you waited in line for 24 hours to buy one. We have a 360 pre-ordered but if it's gonna melt when we plug it in-we might have second thoughts.......

If you have the Sony rootkit software installed on your computer, the new version of this will remove it.

25 to 50 % of priests are gay? That's cool, it's not really an issue with me, but it is nice to see an organized religion recognize that gay people exist. On the other hand, they still have some work to do.....................

Maybe they oughta call it "Richard Ave."...........

Politics as usual. Makes me ill.

John Cusack on Joe Strummer. I grew up listening to The Clash.....kind of like a soundtrack to people my age.

I call bullshit............Just imagine what a large group like Focus on the Family could do if they focused their energy on something useful. I'm sure lots of folks that live or lived in the path of Katrina could use some help. Why not "focus" on those families this Thanksgiving?

Thanks for reading.

Pole.......what pole?

The highlight of the past 48 hours for me was watching some soccer mom talking on her cell in her SUV drive directly into a light pole in our parking lot at work. She wasn't going that fast but they had to tow her vehicle away. I was getting out of my car at work and was lucky enough to be looking in the right direction at the time.

How the heck can someone not see a 4 foot high concrete stanchion with a light pole and light?

Here's why blogging rocks. How long do you think it would have taken for the mass media to get the word out once someone found out about Sony's rootkit? If it wasn't for some guy with a very popular blog, I think it woulda took longer then it did. I know I posted a link about it here and an average of 150 people read this blog and this is a small blog.

We have one of these pre-ordered. Woo hoo. I'm not much of a gamer, but I like the driving games.

Speaking of driving, I watched part of this race on Sunday and it was boring. Maybe it would be better in person. At least Tony Stewart won the championship. The guy can drive anything with wheels. Rusty Wallace is retiring? Don't let the door hit you in the ass, pal.

This is how another country sees President Bush. Am I baggin' on the guy? Maybe a little, but something has to change sooner or later. I like what Bill has to say, I don't agree with him 100%, but he seems to have a handle on what's going on. Was he part of the problem as well? Oh yeah, but I think he has/had more integrity then Bush........even though he couldn't keep small Willie in his pants. He's lucky his wife didn't divorce him.

I don't own a gun, but I think everyone who hasn't been convicted of a felony should be required to openly carry a firearm. Shit like this would happen a lot less. The world might still feel his anger but he'd probably be feeling a lot of bullet holes right now.

I'm no expert on business, but ya gotta wonder how long GM can still pump out mediocre vehicles and still stay afloat. I own a 2000 Plymouth Grand Voyager and I do believe it will be the last domestic vehicle I buy.

My wife drives a 2001 Subaru Outback which cost about the same amount and it's a much better made car. Funny thing is, is that our Subie was made right here in the good ole USA. It's a much tighter car then my van and it doesn't rattle like a beer can.

Maybe I'll buy one of these next time I go car shopping.

Go here and click on the "GB" button and then go to the videos section. Very funny.

Drinking with Bob. One of these days, he's gonna pop a blood vessel.

I'm digging the picture on this Alaskan bike blog. Way cool good stuff :-)

Another year-round rider. You go with your own bad self. When it's 35 degrees or under-I don't ride a whole lot.

Another sweet picture from a Colorado blogger. Wow.

This is an awesome article if you hate DRM.

Here's a pic of my 44 pound Surly. Sure it weighs over twice as much as my Cannondale R 500, but think how fast I'll be next spring if I ride it all winter........that's a big "if". I know I've spouted off before about how much I love this bike, but it is a seriously cool bike. And it's blue.

Stuff like this makes me think there is still hope in the world.

This are some wild Christmas lights. I'm glad I don't live next door.

If you haven't made the move to Firefox...........this might help speed up your decision.

There is quite a bit of truth to this. The rest of his blog is a good read as well.

I think I would shit my pants if this happened to me. I've come close to being hit twice, I don't want to be three times lucky.

With that, I'm headin' to bed. It's about 20 degrees outside and I plan to ride if it warms up.

Thanks for reading.

You know, I'm not the smartest guy in the world....

You know, I'm not the smartest guy in the world........but it sure seems like the folks in Washington are playing games. Holy shit guys.....work together for a change.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
I took this picture last summer at our son's 12th birthday party. I put my digital camera on manual and I actually took something like 50 shots at various exposures and apertures. I have a larger version on my Flickr account. I think I might have posted this before so sorry for the repeat, but it's one of my favorite pics.

Go ahead and see if you can get your head around 4 dimensions.

Wanna go shopping on Black Friday? Here's a list of stores and sales. I know there are lots of good sales out there, but I can't deal with all the crowds.

Here's a nifty test you can do to see how fast your upload and download speed is.

Time to go pick cotton? WTF? I think the parent has every right to be upset.

You know what totally pisses me off when I read this article? The fact that a passing motorist thought it was their business to call the police.

Would I make one of my kids do that?

Very unlikely, but the kid on the corner with the sign probably learned a lesson. The lesson? Put more effort in at school and act like a responsible teenager or she'll have to stand on the corner again.

I like this. I think I'll get some and have them handed out at my memorial service, only I'm gonna fart into mine.

Underwear go on the inside. SFW video on a NSFW website. I had someone ask me what SFW and NSFW is..........Safe For Work.........Not Safe For Work.

This is retarded. For as much money as we are spending over in Iraq, you would think Washington could come up with a prescription plan that normal people can understand.

My son would like to do this for a living. As long as he gets a college degree-I'd be okay with it.

Got this from the Dirt Rag newsletter. Anybody been there? It's not that far from where I live.

I was out of high school for 2 years when this came out. Check out those fashions, I'm still not done looking at everything..........I like the Atari 400 the best so far.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
This guy knows how to recycle.

I was on a mtb ride Sunday morning down at Lake Redman.......great ride. I think something 15 riders showed up and we rode about 2 1/2 hours. I seem to do a lot of solo riding in the fall and the winter, it was great to see everybody.

I did think to bring my camera along and I managed to get a few shots off, they are here on my Flickr account.

I like this picture, I took a series of 5 pictures and stitched them together. Click on the "all sizes" button right above the picture to get a larger version.

This guy here is one of the fastest riders I know, but you'd never know it when he's out on a social ride-he hangs out with us slow guys and the beginners. Helluva nice guy.

DSC00899
99% of the guys I ride with are just as nice as he is, I roll with a very nice group of people.

That's about it for now-gonna go fit a ride in this morning before the rain rolls in.

Thanks for reading.

Here's the deal.............

Yesterday I posted the e-mail from my buddy that asked me to lay off bashing George Bush.

Here's the deal......... you folks don't know who this guy is and his way of speaking and writing.

I do.

Was he pissed about how I bash Bush in my blog? Yeah, maybe a tiny bit but I think he and I both realize that this is just a blog and I write it for fun and not to hurt anybodys feelings.

So that's that.

I'm sure if he wants to debate issues, he'll do it-if not......hey, that's okay too. Whatever works for him works for me, if I piss him off too much..........he'll just drive over to my house and punch me in the mouth.

Here's why I don't watch very much network TV. SFW link on a NSFW website. She must be a real bundle of fun to hang out with.

"2005 hasn't been as nice as I would have liked" Cripes, that's an undersatement. Am I bashing Bush, no not really-I wish all the folks in D.C. (Republicans and Democrats) would pull their heads out of their asses, work together and figure out some sort of strategy for Iraq and the direction this country is headed.

Representative John Murtha of Pennsylvania had this to say.

Today's off-color website. Thanks for the link Doug!

This story is off of the NPR website, I listened to the podcast of this last night at work. Very powerful stuff.

Interesting.

Skip this one if you are a vegan. Mmmm yum.

Pat Robertson has lost his mind.

I could have fun with this.............

I'll be back Monday with a ride report from Sunday's ride..........

Thanks for readin'

I hear from an "anonymous"........

Turns out one of the posters who posted under anonymous the other day is a good friend of mine with a slightly different viewpoint of what's going on in world events.

And that is totally A-OK with me. I just like knowing who I am talking to and if more then one person posts comments anonymously-it's hard to keep track of who said what.

Having said that, he does has some very good points.

And I'd like to share his e-mail with ya'll...............

Hi Geo,

First off, I'm not a republican. I'm somewhere between
a Constitutionalists and a Libertarian. Some day after
this topic I address here we can discuss why I can be
neither Dem or Rebup...besides the fact that the ones
that get elected from those parties are simply just
Chosen Ones from the Governing Class.

We are friends. We will remain friends in spite of any
of these discussions, agreed? Fine. That alone will
keep me in "polite" mode.

Back off on the Bush bashing.

It's getting old for me, having voted for him, to feel
like ass every time I read your blog. (However, I may
just be an ass for other reasons). I don't think all
10 of those phrases you listed are really his. You
have been had! He's not smart. He has learning
disorders which are obvious and he is not a good
speaker. Bill Clinton was the opposite, but he was not
interested in the military, or national security,
which is really a bad thing.

I have long been disappointed by the lack of response
by the USA from Islamic terrorist that bombed the
Marines in Lebanon, took hostages from embassies
(under Carter), attacked the USS Cole, etc. George
isn't pussy footing around. I like that. I like it we
are kicking some ass now and showing the world we CAN
stand up for ourselves. I guess you and much of the
world don't think that's ok, but you're wrong, buck0.
True, the war is more than that. With China competing
with us so strongly for oil, we needed to have a
better hold on things in the middle east, at least
that is 40% of why I think we are there. Why we needed
to be lied to about it, baffles me.

The other 60% of our being there is...

...is...

Have you heard of "Able Danger"?

After reading that I have this to say...

Likely we will never know what the 9/11 Commission
knew, because those documents are probably the ones
Sandy Burger took and got a slap on the wrist for.
Think Bill Clinton wasn't involved in any innocent
lives being lost like the left says about George?
Well, it is easy for me with hindsight, to say he
could have prevented 9/11, but we'll never
know...(Sandy Burger knows). In fact it is unfair for
me to suggest Bill could have stopped it. With 9/11
everything has changed. I do think it's unfair, as
well, that WE do not get to know what Bill and the
9/11 Commission knew.

I think it's unfair that George used Veteran's Day, of
ALL days, to return an attack on the Dems for saying
he's a liar. Of course he's a liar. He is one of the
chosen governing class and THEY all lie. You and I
just have to sort out the why of the lie. The truth
is, what we are fighting for is for our very survival.
I think you understand survival. I'm going to bet you
don't' think the issue with Islam is that
great...wrong again, buck-o. We MUST have control of
the oil or somewhat control over it AND to be free
from a religion that wants us dead. George is
protecting you life and the future for your children.

In summary; take it easy on making me feel like and
ass once a day, k?

P.S. Here's a follow up to the Able Danger Tale...

P.P.S. I like to play the middle and I never thought
that Bill deserved to have a legal commission formed
against him to discover he was having a sexual
liaison...paa-lease! What a waste of my money!!!

Well, I gotta respect were my buddy is coming from. I do however disagree with the way that the current administration is handling things in Iraq and here at home.

Did the previous administration make mistakes?

Yup.

Do I bash Bush in this blog?

Yup.

Will I continue to post articles about George and some of his missteps?

Yup, but reading my friends e-mail will make me take a second look at what I post about the man. I still feel that he is one of the worst presidents we've ever had.

Wanna comment?

I'd love to hear what everyone has to say -just keep it civil- Let's face it, we ain't gonna cure cancer here on the internet and as far as folks making anonymous comments? That's cool, I just prefer knowing who I am talking to.

.........Enough of that, how about this weather here on the east coast? Something like a 35 degree temperature drop in the past 24 hours.

Yikes.

And I am hosting a slacker mtb ride at Lake Redman on Sunday-I better slap on an extra pair of socks.

Our son and I were at the eye doctors Thursday night-he barely needs glasses, but we went ahead and got him a pair because he has trouble seeing the board at school sometimes.

Me?

Shit, I'm as blind as a fencepost. I needed a new prescription in the reading part of my bifocals and I also got a pair of prescription sport sunglasses. I've never had a set of those real fancy sunglasses before, with my luck-I'll probably set them down somewhere and lose them.

I really enjoyed reading another blogger's take on Critical Mass. I think if we tried something like that around here, it would turn into something like what happened up in NYC earlier this year. Around here, the car is king.

Going shopping on Black Friday? Here's a heads up on what's going to be on sale.

Been following the news on the Sony rootkit? Here's the latest.........

This site gives me a headache.

This person is gonna be pissed when they re-read the auction they just won.

With that-I'm outta here.......thanks for reading.

Strange things..........

I was playing around with Google.............if you put the words "bikes" and "donuts" in Google-my blog pops up number one.

Evidently, I am one of the few cyclists that blogs about donuts and bicycles.

Even though I sometimes go for a couple days without mentioning anything about bikes. Sometimes I get carried away when I read stuff that I feel needs attention called to it and I forget all about bikes.

Like this stuff......

Pretty colors in the sky.

I'm not sure what this proves. Check out the movie.

I live here in Pennsylvania- guess what? These guys are all gone in the next election.

Dick's a dick.

My turkey is on fire. Having a grease fire is scary as hell. I had a donut fryer catch on fire once. Scared me shitless. You haven't lived until you've had a vat of hot oil 3 feet deep, 4 feet wide and 40 feet long spontaneously ignite.

I love stories like this. I'm sure she violated Excellent Customer Service Rule #1 which is.....Be nice and you'll get what you want.

The Parents Television Council wins the Donut Guy's "Asshole of the Day" award.

Oh man. Could you imagine?

If you smoke-now's a good time to stop. I smoked for 20 years and I stopped over 5 years ago. Hardest and best thing I've ever done..........well, it's the second best thing I've done-marrying my wife has to come in first place. If anyone wants to stop and needs encouragement, just e-mail me.

$169,393 a year is a lot of money but if one of those guys or gals have a bad day-we're gonna read about it in the paper. If I have a bad day.........not so much. Maybe I come down on the side of the pilots because our next door neighbor is a captain for American and I see how much stress those guys are put under.

Now this is a snowblower.

I need one of these.

AOL has got some problems. I know back in the mid nineties we used them, when I went with another ISP, I had to talk to 3 or 4 people at AOL before I could get them to cancel my account. It was almost like having a police interrogation. Not that I'd know what that was like.

Honest.

Couple new people are added to my links section. The Old Bag and Gawdzilla. Both are interesting reads so go there now and check'em out.

An anonymous commenter posted something about my comments on George Bush. Yeah, whatever..........I don't pay much attention to folks that comment here that don't have a name or an e-mail address. It's not worth the effort, just get your own blog, okay?

The weather that some of my midwest blogging friends were having the other day finally arrived here in PA. Would you like it back? Actually, it's not that bad-I just wish the days were a little longer-it gets dark about an hour after I wake up in the afternoon. Sometimes working 3rd shift sucks.......

First time I've read this blog. It's a good read. So many good blogs, too little time...........what I like about reading blogs is that you'll go to someone's else's blog, read it and follow a couple of the links and *pffft* there goes an hour or three.

Last link. Not family or work safe. Blah, blah, blah, the usual..........

P.S.........

Shit.

I didn't blog about donuts or bicycles this time.

Maybe next time.

But don't count on it.

Thanks for reading.

It won't last..........

I don't know about everybody else, but here in the Northeast-it was 62 degrees when I got out of work this morning. Hardly seems like late fall.

Mother Nature is gonna slap us upside the head real soon. I'm going to wake up some afternoon soon and it will be 20 degrees and snowing.

I haven't thrown the knobbies on the Cross-Check yet, I love the looks I get riding my full fendered racked-up Surly out on the trails at Rocky Ridge and Lake Redman. I usually ride to Rocky Ridge and do a lap of all the "easy" trails, with the ride up and back...it's a nice little mid-winter work out.

Gotta go, I got about 3 hours of sleep yesterday and I'm about to pass out...........

Thanks for reading.

My mom took some pics......

My mom took some pictures when she and my dad were in NYC this past weekend.

Found this article about "older" bloggers. While I don't consider my mom "old" she is new to computing and she does the same thing lots of us do. She totally loses track of the time she spends on the computer. I say have at it, she worked her whole adult life-live a little.

My mom is getting pretty good at manipulating data on her laptop. I showed her how to rip Cd's and put them onto a iPod. Woo hoo, soon she'll be doing all kinds of stuff.

I was playing around with some photo editing software........

Squirrel before.............

Squirrel after..........I'm getting good at using the "clone" tool.

Wow. We don't get very many tornados around here and I'm damn glad we don't.

This dude oughta hook up with my buddy Pat Robertson.

I don't hunt, it's not my thing.......however I have no problem with hunting or hunters because I love venison. Why someone would use something like this is beyond me. It seems like it would take one helluva a long time to bag a deer. Most of the time someone hunts, it cold and miserable-I think they should let hunters use small caliber machine guns with tracer bullets to cut down on the time it takes to get a deer. Using a atlatl seems like it would increase the suffering a deer goes through.

Let's face it, we ain't cave men any more.

No way 60% of America thinks Bush is dishonest. It's more likely that the 40% of America that thinks he's honest must not be well informed. If he's a dumbass, so be it-but I don't like liars.

Slightly off-color joke time...........

A horse and a chicken are playing in a meadow. Suddenly, the Horse falls into a mud hole and starts to sink.

The horse yells at the Chicken to go and get the farmer to help pull him out to safety.

The chicken runs to the farm but the farmer can't be found. So, the chicken gets into the farmer's BMW and drives it as fast as possible back to the mud hole.

Wasting no time, the chicken ties a rope around the bumper, and then tosses the other end of the rope to the horse.

As the horse hangs on for dear life, the chicken drives the car forward, and saves the horse from sinking.

A few days later, the chicken and horse are playing in the meadow again.

This time, the chicken falls into the mud hole. The chicken yells to the horse to hurry and get the farmer, or the farmer's BMW.

The horse then says, "Wait, I think I can stand over the mud hole!" So, he stretches over the width of the hole and says to the chicken, "Reach up and grab my dick and pull yourself up!"

The chicken did so, and pulled herself up to safety.

The Moral of the Story:

If you are hung like a horse, you don't need a BMW to pick up chicks.

You thought it was gonna be worse, didn't you? Hey, my mom reads this blog-so I gotta keep it sorta clean............

I like this one ............

This will warm your heart... just when you lost faith in human kindness:

Someone who teaches at a Middle School in Hudson, Florida forwarded the following letter. The letter was sent to the principal's office after the school had sponsored a luncheon for the elderly. This story is a credit to all human kind. Read it and forward it to all those who could use a lift.

Dear Hudson Middle School,

God blesses you for the beautiful radio I won at your recent senior citizen's luncheon.

I am 84 years old and live at the Hudson Assisted Home for the Aged.

All of my family has passed away. I am all alone now and it's nice to know that someone is thinking of me. God bless you for your kindness to an old forgotten lady.

My roommate is 95 and always had her own radio, but before I received one, she would never let me listen to hers, even when she was napping.

The other day her radio fell off the night stand and broke into a lot of pieces.

It was awful and she was in tears. She asked if she could listen to mine, and I said fuck you.

Life is good.
Sincerely,
Edna

That's more my style........

Anal bleaching? WTF???? SFW link on a NSW website. Why would anyone let another human bleach their asshole? I'm not gettin' it..........ever.

Liquid cereal. I'd like to try the peanut butter and chocolate mixed together.

Another joke...............

A fourty-ish woman was at home happily jumping on her bed and squealing with delight. Her husband watches her for a while.

Husband : "Do you have any idea how ridiculous you look? What's the matter with you?"

The woman continues to bounce on the bed and says...

Wife: "I don't care. I just came from having a mammogram and the doctor says I have the breasts of an 18 year-old."

Husband: "What did he say about your 46 year old ass?"

Wife: "Your name never came up."

I'm sure my wife would appreciate that one since she is a breast cancer survivor and she's married to a 46 year old ass.

And that ass would be me:-)

This dog is smarter then I am.

I read this article and am reminded why car shopping is such a total pain in the ass. Do I like low prices? Hell yes, I do but I hate getting the feeling that you left a few dollars on the table when you sign on the dotted line at a dealership. I want the "special deal" all the time.

Fortunately, I only buy a new vehicle every 10 or 12 years, I wish it was like shopping for everything else that my wife gives me permission to buy.

Till later and thanks for reading.

I like to ride my bike.......

I can hardly believe it is the middle of November. I think the temps were in the mid sixties here in PA yesterday so I figured I better get one last short sleeve ride in before the blast freezer weather moves in.

I like starting out on late afternoon rides and finishing them up under the cover of darkness. I run a 10 watt bar light, a 5 watt helmet light to get driver's attention at intersections and lots of rear LED's.

I also took some pictures of random stuff as I was riding. I stopped over on the Lancaster side of the Susquehanna to take the picture of the sunset and by the time I got back into York-it was getting fairly dark.......it was a nice ride.

I was reading up on the French rioters and the last sentence of this article got my attention. They burn 100 cars on an average Saturday night? Holy shit.

By the way, Pat is still a dick.

My folks were up in NYC this weekend, my mom took lots of pictures, I will be uploading some of them to my Flickr account sometime today or tomorrow.

That's about it..........thanks for reading.

Push Button Receive Bacon

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
I have no idea why this makes me laugh, but I'd thought I would share it.

I did have to photoshop the graphics as the word "received" was spelled incorrectly. I'm not the smartest guy on the planet but it bugs the hell out of me when grown adults can't spell correctly or express themselves on paper.

Back a few years ago I was a production manager for a large commercial donut bakery and I had to write up a report because we missed a monthly production goal. I basically blew sunshine up my boss's ass in about 500 words.

He loved the report, it didn't really say anything or give any promise of increased performance in the future, but it had lots of big words and I'm pretty sure he didn't want to embarrass himself by asking someone what I meant.

Sometimes you can baffle 'em with bullshit-sometimes you can't, the only important thing is to know the difference..........

Our ride for Saturday afternoon got cancelled and it was a good thing I suppose-because I slept in until 3:30 Saturday afternoon. I usually get off work at 5 AM Saturday morning and I either get my wife up so we can eat breakfast or meet my pop at 5AM and eat breakfast with him. Since my folks are out of town-my wife, our 12 year son and I went out for breakfast so I didn't get to sleep until later in the morning.

I'm not the skinniest guy in the world (I'm not grossly obese either) but if I ate at restaurants all the time-I'd be a fat ass because I love turkey egg cheese omelets, home fries and bacon all fried with a 1/4 stick of butter. Yum. Some folks eat like that every day-once a week is okay for me. I wanna live past 50..........

I like to read my comments and saw a new person make a comment on my last blog entry-thanks Ptelea- I added you to my links section-I'm enjoying reading about you and your cats. Kinda reminds me of our first (and only) cat.

We took in a stray back when my wife and I were first married-it had no hair on it's frost bitten ears and was deaf as a post. In fact it was about the mangiest cat I had ever seen but it was ours. Sadly, Dave only lived for another year or so but she at least she had a warm place to shed hair for the last year of her life........

Fast forward to now and our allergic 12 year old is in the process of getting allergy shots so we can get another cat-that's gonna be interesting and I'm sure it'll provide me plenty of photo-ops. for this blog.

In my mind, there are a few professions that have my ultimate respect. Among them are teachers, police, firemen (and woman) and nurses. I bet Arnold would be changing his tune if a member of his family was in an understaffed hospital. Of course he probably has his own hospital somewhere............

It must suck to be a Republican.

I don't know who is responsible for this web site, but I'd like the thank them for making me spit my soda all over the monitor.

Interesting article. As I read it, I realized that every stitch of clothing I am wearing right now was bought at Wal-Mart. Hmmmm.

I really do think George has started drinking again.......Here is a list of his Top Ten "Bushisms"

Rick Santorum talks out his ass quite a bit. I'm proud to have him as a senator......... Not.

As much as I like bicycles because they save gas, are good for exercise and peace of mind....I still like cars and 540 cubic inches is hard to argue with. Too bad it cost almost a half-million dollars. I had to reread that dollar amount in the article, I couldn't fathom paying that much for a 69 Camaro that isn't really a 69 Camaro. Unless of course I was stinking filthy rich-then I'd write the check in a heartbeat.

Finally............all you've ever wanted or needed to know about Paris Hilton.

Thanks for reading.

New picture........

Yeah, yeah- I know a grandma riding a chopper has nothing to do with bicycles or donuts but it's my blog......so there.

I was listening to a couple podcasts last night concerning PC repair and some folks called in with their computer problems..........The more I listen to folks with simple problems that totally stymie them- the more I think I am making the right move by going back to school......

I like all kinds of music, I've been on a blue grass kick lately........not sure why but I'm really digging this guy. He died back in 2001 but his music is still popular.

About the only kinds of music I can't get my head around are country and rap/hip-hop.

Country music? I'm sorry but trying to listen to anything made in the last 25 years or so is like taking your fingernails down a 5 mile long chalkboard. I'd rather take a beating then have to listen to it. It's just crap.

Rap music? I guess it's okay, it's just not my bag.

This is today's "Song of the Day" Trust me-you'll either like this or you'll hate it-no middle position on this one kids...........

Enough music for one day, I gotta get some zzzz's I'm going to actually attempt to ride my bike later today.

Thanks for reading.

Let me go out on a limb here...........

........and call out Pat Robertson for being an asshole.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
I suppose he's one of the reasons I have issues with organized religion. If I belong to a particular religion, I don't want someone from that religion speaking for me on my behalf.

I like to speak for myself, thank you very much.

Since I live near Dover and have friends and family that live in Dover............ Pat Robertson can go suck a bag of dicks.

And that's all I have to say about that..........

I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts last night, when they interviewed this guy. I ordered his book, I'll let ya'll know what it's like after I read it.

Damn, I must be old, I can remember when this happened. Granted I was only in 10th grade at the time, but still........

Here's a story that warms my heart.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Happy Birthday US Marines- OoohRAAA! Today is Veterans Day. Thank a serviceman or woman for their service.

Holy crap. When the cop wants you to pull over.........you best PULL OVER.

This is good. I'll be doing this one at work tonight.

I'm gonna try and pull my lazy ass out of bed tomorrow afternoon and push one of my bikes around Lake Redman with a couple buddies-I'll fill ya'll in on how it went Sunday.......

......thanks for reading.

The voters have voted.........

Almost the entire Dover school board was voted out of office. Common sense prevails.

Too bad we have to wait 3 more years to do the same thing on a national level because this is some scary shit.

I spent some time changing around and updating my "Links" section. If you have a site you want on there-just give me a holler. They are some other folks that have me linked, I'll try to get them on there soon..........

Friday, April 13, 2029 is going to be here before you know it.

Our daughter will like this site.

I was going to take a couple pics of stuff at work last night, but I was too darn busy to stop. I am going to make a custom "Bike Rding Donut Guy" donut and make it my profile picture.

Exciting,huh?

No not really but I'd thought I'd share.

I've got writer's block today so see ya later.....

Tanks for reading.

Saved some gas......

I know lots of my fellow bike bloggers do almost all of their commuting, errands and general mucking about on their bicycles.

Me?

Not so much.

I don't get to ride as nearly as much as I'd like to, so when I have a 3 or 4 hour chunk of free time-I try to fit some bike stuff in there. I might not ride a ton of miles in the time I have to ride because I do lots of stopping and starting to take pictures of stuff, but I have fun.

I did a whole bunch of stuff Tuesday morning. I went to the bank, video store, credit union and did a little shopping. This was the first time I've used my Banjo Brothers messenger bag and to be honest-I was a little worried that it wouldn't fit the 2 gallons of milk I had to buy.....

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
I shouldn't have worried.

Other then the fact that 2 gallons of milk weighs close to 18 pounds that I had to pedal up a large hill to get home-It was all good. The milk fit with room to spare and to be honest-I was surprised at how well the load on my back stayed put.

Good stuff.

Here's a few pics I took when I was out Tuesday morning. The light wasn't the best as it was overcast and I missed the foilage peak but I still had fun. I put a few pics in there of our house and all the leaves so Lunatic Biker gets to see all the work my neighbor does when he rakes my leaves. Most of the leaves are still up in the trees........

I also stopped over at my folks house to give my mom a lesson on how to use my iPod Shuffle so she can listen to some podcasts when she goes on a trip to NYC this coming weekend. She's gonna take some pics and I plan on putting them on my Flickr account so she can share them.

A friend of mine that lives down in Ball'mer also has a Flickr account-Doug is a way good photographer, check out his stuff. He's also funny as hell and a great guy to hang out with.

I shoot my mouth off about all kinds of stuff on this blog but one thing I haven't talked about in awhile are some of my favorite cycling related sites...........

Here are a few of mine....

Bikemagic-A British based mtbing site.

Cyclingnews.com-The New York Times of cycling.

Dirt Rag- Pa's finest

Drunkcyclist.com-Not for the faint of heart. Also NSF

North Shore Mountain Biking NSMB.com- Good stuff if ya like freeride. I like freeride.

Bikemag.com- Online version of Bike Magazine

I'll put some more up another time.....

This article makes me feel less guilty for downloading music.

That's about it for today, I'm about to go face down on the keyboard, thanks for reading.

The Donut Guy goes back to school..........

My wife handed me a HACC catalog to read over the weekend. Mmmmm, the Donut Guy might be going back to college. You're never to old to get some more smarts. I took some courses some years back to get my Master Baker certification but I'd like to learn more about computers as that's my 2nd hobby. After bikes of course.

I missed the Open House that HACC had last weekend here in York but I plan to call them up or stop by the York campus to get more info...........

Actually, I'd like to start my own part time business going to folks house's to fix their computers. I figure if I did that-this blog would write itself with funny stories about the stuff people have done with computers.

Got me a Flickr Pro account last week. It cost 25 bucks a year so I plan to use the heck out of it. They use the word "unlimited" a lot. I don't think I'll ever upload 2 gigs of stuff a month but with the holidays coming up, who knows......It will be nice to be able to share pics online with our family.

With every religion, there are good things and bad things you can take away from each. I'm not Catholic, but I do happen to agree with this dude. I love reading what the fundamentalists write about Earth being 7000 years old..............my opinion?.....they are a bunch of mouth breathers...........read the links at the bottom of the article for added laughs.

Whether you believe in God or not..........the Earth and the Universe is more then 7000 years old and it ain't flat.

More on those wonderful folks over at Sony. Nice stuff, huh? These guys also have a very nice freeware section on the site. I use this program to see what's running on this box. This will see if you have any rootkits running on your hard drive.

This guy is a waiter. He's also a pretty damn good writer, one of my favorite blogs. He wrote this entry recently about getting older and making peace with people who have done you wrong. One guy I used to work for would fit under the category of "People I really don't like".......maybe I need to grow more as a person because if he was hanging off the side of a cliff and I had the only rope...............I sure hope he has a good grip. What comes around goes around.

Jeez, I guess I'm going to have to scratch off that trip to France. 1,400 torched cars? 9,500 cops? Holy shit.

If you're gay, I'm cool with that. Whatever. What you do with your partner is your business. All I know is that my anus has a "No Entry" sign on it (except for this) if ya know what I mean. Holy or not. Seriously, anyone that has a writes a book and titles one of the chapters "The Anus is Holy" deserves some press. The fact that the Dutch Reformed Church has a task team on homosexuality doesn't surprise me. I'm sure most churches have one.

Buried with their phone? Screw that-I want my Surly melted down and mixed in with my ashes when I die.

My wife is a nurse specializing in elder care. I was reading this article and thinking she could probably make a small fortune consulting senior citizens on what to do with their Medicare coverage as she knows all that stuff forwards and backwards. I'm no expert but there has to be a better way to run healthcare.

That's about it for now, gonna run some errands by bike and try out my new Banjo Brothers messenger bag.......thanks for reading.

I should know better........

I really like onion rings.

We got some take-out from Outback and I got an order of Bloomin' Onions Sunday afternoon.

Big mistake.

Now I can fart the entire Star Spangled Banner.

Till later.

George ain't right.............

Seriously, I think the boy started back up drinking or is on some type of meds. (You'll have to give the Washington Post some info to read the article) I can remember last year when he visited our town. It was a serious pain in the ass for most of the day if you wanted to get anywhere.

If you don't wanna register at the Washington Post, then read this. Scary, huh? The press even lays into the poor bastard when he is 2000 miles away. This article makes me think the wheels fell off of GW's train and we are just waiting for it to derail.

Peace in the Middle East? Sure, when pigs f*cking fly.

Time for something fun. Can you believe that? SFW video on a NSFW website.

This makes me proud to live near this.

As I write this sentence, it's Saturday night and I pretty much slept through the entire day. Looks like I missed a nice day and I'll more then likely sleep all day Sunday because I also work Sunday night. Bummer. I really want to get out before all the leaves fall off of the trees.

At first thought, I read this article and thought it was a bad idea for them to sponsor a race, but the more I think about it-they pretty much strapped on a set of balls and and are letting folks know that EPO is a good drug that saves lives if it's used properly. Good on them.

People are idiots. That's about all I can say on that article. Except that the customer's behavior doesn't surprise me one bit. I deal with customers that have the same kind of mindset every night when I go to work. Lucky me.

This guy calls bullshit on Peak Oil.

My opinion? .....who knows?

I think when it cost 3 or 4 dollars a gallon for gas like it will sometime soon, I'm gonna use the least amount possible and if it runs out while I am still alive............I guess I'll be riding my bike more.

I don't follow football very much but I think Terrel Owens has a rectal-cranial inversion. Just my 2 cents.........

I love this guy but I think he might pop a blood vessel. I agree with him, especially when you are in the mall or a grocery store. If you are walking along-just don't stop in the middle of an aisle and stare into space. If you are driving..........get off the damn cellphone and pay attention to what you are doing.

It's deer season as noted by my friend in Minnesota. I like deer meat and everything but I could never pull the trigger and shoot one. I ran into a couple guys at the gasoline mart the other morning dressed up in all their hunting togs. Total camo from head to foot. To be honest-they looked kind of stupid. I'm sure they think I look stupid dressed in bicycle clothes

The county parks I mtb in allow hunting by permit in certain areas. I stay the hell away from those areas and wear some blaze orange. I've been told by hunters that a mountain bike going down a trail sounds just like a deer crashing through the woods. I thing I might bungee cord a boombox to my bike and play some AC/DC so none of those guys shoot me. Think they would be pissed? I really dig Angus and the boys, so they'd have to get over it.

Go ahead and register at the NY Times. Then read this article. One thing's for sure (IMHO) if the Democrats controlled the House and Senate-they would have Bush's ass in impeachment proceedings.

I have some friends that I co-blog with here. I don't spend much time there but they have some interesting things to say. Check'em out.

Ryan Leech is a trials God. I've seen other video where he rides across a chain stretched between 2 poles. I like bike trials if you haven't noticed. As long as the penalty for failure isn't to high-I like to try hopping up and down off of stuff and practicing wheelie drops, etc... when I ride in the woods. I usually do this when I ride by myself as I fall off sometimes............a 46 year old guy falling off of his bike is not pretty.

Learn something about WW II history. With the way things are made nowadays....do you think that if they built something like that now, it would still be standing in 50 years?

Betcha didn't know this........US Service men and women use Silly String.

That's about it for now, thanks for readin'

I like models..........

Get your mind out of the gutter people.

Not those kind of models.

These kind of models.

I haven't done any for quite awhile as they consume massive amounts of time to do correctly. The engine compartment on the Impala is correctly wired and plumbed including brake lines, spark plug wires, clamps and hoses. It was alot of work.

I just upgraded my account on Flickr to "Pro". I've been playing around with it for the past few months and I really like how it saves the picture info and I also like that annotation feature where you can imbed comments right in the picture. For 25 bucks a year-you can't beat it.

I took our son on a few errands yesterday and while we were slurping down our 4 dollar coffee drinks at the mall, we stopped in at the arcade. When I was a kid (I'm dating myself here) the big thing was Galaxian and Defender. Yeah, I know-that was the late 70's and early 80's

Now they have this.

What the hell? I mean has anyone seen someone do this? When done correctly, the person playing it looks like they are having a seizure or something.........Holy Mother of God.

Damn kids.

Well, I ain't gonna hang around here too much this morning-gotta get some z's and see if I can fit a ride in later today..........

Thanks for reading and stay away from DDR...................

Cats.........

I think I've shot my mouth off just a few times on this blog about cats and dogs.

Well, we are getting a cat.

Since our son was about 5 he has been asthmaatic and allergic to dust, pet hair, etc..... He is willing to get a weekly allergy shot so he and his sister can get a cat. It's going to be a few weeks until we go to the SPCA and pick one out........it'll be interesting to see what kind of cat the kids pick out.

I actually like cats, they just have a different kind of personality then dogs. Dogs fetch things and wag their tails.

Cats just kinda hang out.

I'm curious as to what name they are gonna pick out for this animal. I vote for Dusty, since that is what has kept us from getting a cat in the past..........

I figure this might be the last nice weekend we have here in central PA so I am heading out for a bike ride with my camera Saturday afternoon. I love just stopping whenever I see something that needs a picture taken of it. Hopefully I'll have a bunch of pictures to blog after the weekend.

On my last post I made a comment about this article concerning the Methodist Church defrocking a lesbian minister. I was brought up as a Methodist and the church I went to (and still am a member of) welcomed everyone or at least that's the way I perceived it. I have to admit, I'm not active in my church at this point.........but if I was-I'd have a problem with how this issue was handled.

I'm not Catholic and I might not understand everything the Catholic religion stands for and believes in but I think they have a few problems they need to address. Maybe they oughta let priests get a little action on the side so they can blow off some steam when they are off duty.

Am I serious?

Of course not.

But they do have to get a handle on this situation and the sooner the better.

This is a great idea, but who the hell wrote the headline for this piece?

I don't want to bash Bush, but I can't help myself. It's like shooting fish in a barrel. 3 more years of this idiot? God help us all.

I gotta tell ya, I'm not much of a roller coaster fan but if I ever win big on the lottery-I'm getting one of these. I've been to the drag races before and the real thing is even quicker. Something like 0 to 10o mph in about a second. You'd have to see it to believe it.

"Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job." Here what worries me, the whole administration is probably full of people like Mike.

Porno?(pdf file link SFW-it's not porno) Not my thing, but he oughta have the right to do whatever he wants as long as he isn't harming anyone. Maybe the cops lost their copy of the Bill of Rights. What about all the children who could possibly view porn sites? Maybe their parents oughta be doing a better job of watching where their kids go on the internet.

Yikes. I could spend a couple hours on this website.

Now granted most any bike you buy at Wal-Mart is going to be a pile of shit, but maybe they should spend a few minutes setting up and making sure each bike is adjusted properly before they sell it. I know the bike I bought there for our son needed just about everything adjusted when I brought it home.

Sounds like the kid had a loose quick release on his bike. This website thinks quick releases are evil. A little information on how to operate a quick release might help these uninformed parents.

Doesn't appear that his parents read the instruction manual to know how to check and make sure it was adjusted correctly. Is it 100% Wal-Marts fault? I'd say 50-50 but if they woulda spent a few dollars more at a real bike shop-they most likely would have never had this problem.

Hey Amy, I call bullshit.

Thanks for reading.

Stuck on Stupid

I guess I'm not quite up to speed on all the stuff going on at the White House. Bush, Libby, Rove, Cheney, yadda, yadda yadda.

Quite honestly, I don't give a shit because it's all beyond my control. If Bush had any damn brains, he'd grow a set of balls and explain to the American public that he screwed up, clean house and start over with a new staff of advisors but I kinda doubt he's that smart. Here's a clue big guy, get rid of Rove.

Oh, another person has been nominated to the Supreme Court. At least this guy has some experience. I'm not sure I agree with all his views but at least he's been a judge before and he is qualified-so nominate the guy already and lets get on with running the country.

Nearly 100 US service people lost their lives in Iraq in October. Just thought I'd remind ya'll in case you forgot. It doesn't look like we are leaving anytime soon does it?

This kind of stuff pisses me off. Who cares what sexual preference someone is? I know I don't. Did it affect how she did her job? I doubt it and it's not fair to fire her for being gay. I'm not a lawyer, I make donuts for a living but I don't even see how it is legal to do what they did. I'll admit to being prejudicial concerning one thing..........ignorance.

I'm surprised this guy hasn't gotten himself capped yet. He's not one of my favorite broadcasters.

I might be wrong on this, but having to watch something on a 2 1/2 inch screen doesn't seem very appealing to me. I might watch 6 or 7 hours of TV for a whole week-I just don't have the time. If I miss taping a show to watch? Well, that's what bit torrent is for.

I like this wellness program. If they had something like that at where I work, half the employees would have heart attacks. Am I the fittest guy where I work? Nope, but I bet I'm in the top 20% and I am probably at my lowest point in fitness in the 12 months. Not saying much for my fellow associates is it?

I am so amped about being able to ride without back pain, it's gonna take lots of slow steady miles to build back up this winter-I hope it's a mild winter.

"That's why the president has been leading the way." Scariest quote in the whole article.

Think about this. Maybe they could make folks responsible for their actions when they injure peds and cyclists. That would be a start.

I wanna throw up.

Anybody see this? Fall-o-Ween? Gimme a break. Soon they will be taking the "Christ" out of Christmas.......bastards.

I like this guy's blog except for one thing. He's not really very fat, but he is very funny.

This doesn't have anything to do with anything. But it is funny. SFW video on a NSFW website.

You know you're a geek if you own one of these. The inner geek in me is having a case of cold sweats when I look at all those buttons. Do I need something like that? Hell, no-I spend enough time screwing around on the computer.

Play any Sony CD's on your computer lately? DRM has gone too far in my opinion.

Left, Right and Center is available as a podcast and IMHO it's one of the best ones out there discussing the political landscape. Also, Arianna Huffington's blog is a wealth of knowledge. You can never have too much knowledge..................even if you don't always agree with everything you read.

Mike from Banjo Brothers sent me a spiffy logo to put on the front of my site.

So I did.

The guy sent me a messenger bag and a really nice rack bag to try, so it's the least I can do.
