Busy day off...........

I work 6 nights a week at my regular job, so I don't have a whole bunch of spare time, so my "day" off is usually pretty busy.

Yesterday I managed to ......

-go to the car wash and clean a month worth of dirt off the outside of my minivan

-go to the bank for multiple deposits

-go to Sam's and BJ's to open up business memberships

-go to the office supply store to drool at stuff, I don't know why, but I really like looking at all the stuff I don't have the money for. Yet.

Installed the gerbil's "spa" on top of her cage.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
The cat likes it as much as the gerbil does.......

-check at 3 or 4 stores to see if anyone has Wii's for sale. We really want to get one but since they seem to be rarer then hen's teeth.....it might be awhile.

One thing I noticed yesterday while I was out and about is proliferation of cell phone users.

Everybody has one.

While I was standing in line at Sam's to apply for a business membership, a lady right behind me in line with a voice like nails on a chalkboard got a call. Lord have mercy, if I woulda had one of those compressed air horns...I woulda gave her a blast. I had to settle for turning around and staring at her until she lowered her voice. Yes, I can be an asshole.

On the way home from BJ's Wholesale Club, I saw a driver come to a complete stop at a green light while she was gesticulating wildly with a cell phone glued to her ear. The driver behind her ran right into the back of her car. There happened to be a cop right behind both of them (how often does that happen) and I think he saw the whole thing so it would be interesting to see who was at fault.

Um, can somebody tell these guys (and Hilary) that the election isn't for another 2 years? I think I read somewhere that there are over 2 dozen Democratic and Republican candidates so far.

The Super Bowl is next weekend. I don't follow football at all, so this stuff makes little sense to me. My wife and I just like watching the commercials.

Speaking of commercials, that's one of the main reasons I don't go to see movies at the theater, this guy has another reason.....crappy customer service.

Here's even more less then perfect service. I think I woulda parked my ass at the Cingular store and stayed until they fixed it to my satisfaction.

Why bother wearing a helmet? Gotta thank Hank for the pic.

This is a license to print money. I wish I woulda thought of it.

Sure, it has 4 times the horsepower of my minivan, but damn....it certainly is cool looking. Not sure why anyone needs a car with that much power, I guess if some's good-more is better and too much ain't enough. Interesting factoid-if you Google that phrase-my site comes up #1.

Awesome. They have FSM candy.

NeoCon Buzzword Bingo.

I suppose he could cut the rest of the roof off and have a convertible. I bet that made one helluva loud noise.

I love the WRC........

Been kinda busy to blog much.

Just finished watching the Monte Carlo WRC rally. Rally car races beat the snot out of NASCAR as far as entertainment value goes.

I used to watch quite a bit of NASCAR years ago before it turned into a 4 hour long commercial.

Not all the guys that participate in WRC speak English very well, but anybody that races down a twisty dirt road at 80 mph in the middle of the night is A-OK with me.

If I ever win the lottery, I'm gonna spend some time over in Europe following the series......

Maybe it's good that God doesn't answer everyone's prayers.

I wish Frank was still alive and running for President.

Is 10 degrees cold?

After enjoying temps in the 40's and 50's last week........yeah, I'd say ten degrees is quite cold enough. The good news is that there's only 6 or so weeks of potentially cold weather ahead and then it's all uphill (temperature wise) from there.

Started working on a client's computer last night..........I really, really, really hate spyware, adware and malware. Turns out the client let their grandkids play on the computer several months ago and ever since-the computer just wasn't "right".

I've worked on more infested computers, but this one was bad enough. It didn't have any rootkits on it but I removed over 30 separate spyware programs and bots. I use several different programs to hunt for stuff, it's kinda like playing whack-a-mole with computer files. If you miss one spyware program.........it will invite all its buddies back to the party unless you have real-time protection running all the time.

I hate to see people get so frustrated with computers, these folks were totally ready to go out and buy another computer. I'm glad I saved them the money.

It might be alright if what you got actually looked like the picture. I don't eat there very often, but everytime I do-my burger always looks like someone sat on it before they wrapped it up.

I'm one of those Libertarian nutcases. I'm pretty much on board with what this dude is saying.

I wonder how long it will be before George tells Dick he's "doing a heck of a job".....

A joke........

A man was being tailgated by a stressed out woman on a busy boulevard. Suddenly, the light turned yellow, just in front of him. He did the right thing, stopping at the crosswalk, even though he could have beaten the red light by accelerating through the intersection.

The tailgating woman was furious and honked her horn, screaming in frustration as she missed her chance to get through the intersection, dropping her cell phone and makeup.

As she was still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her window and looked up into the face of a very serious police officer. The officer ordered her to exit her car with her hands up.

He took her to the police station where she was searched, finger printed, photographed, and placed in a holding cell. After a couple of hours, a policeman approached the cell and opened the door. She was escorted back to the booking desk where the arresting officer was waiting with her personal effects.

He said, "I'm very sorry for this mistake. You see, I pulled up behind your car while you were blowing your horn, flipping off the guy in front of you, and cussing a blue streak at him. I noticed the 'What Would Jesus Do' bumper sticker, the 'Choose Life' license plate holder, the 'Follow Me to Sunday School' bumper Sticker, and the chrome-plated Christian fish emblem on the trunk. Naturally, I assumed you had stolen the car."

....I've but cut off in traffic before by those folks with the fish emblem on their trunklids. I guess they ain't Christians when they're driving.

I plan to buy a Vista laptop in the next few months, but I think I'll wait until Service Pack 1 comes out. Hopefully I'll make enough money with my new business venture to buy both our kids new laptops this year. Our daughter has a nice laptop, but she'd like an ultra portable to take to classes.

All I could think of when I read this article was........what about fixing up or replacing the storm damaged houses of the folks that suffered through Katrina? Somebody ain't got their priorities straight.

Till later.

Some days.....

Some days you have it...........some days you don't. When I went to work last night I just couldn't seem to get it together.

When everything works well at work-it's really fun and times flies.

On a normal shift, I have at least 6 or 7 things going on at the same time and timing is crucial to having everything go well.

Last night I couldn't bake my way out of a wet paper bag. The crowning achievement of the evening? I forgot to set the computer controlled oven when I put some Italian bread in it.

Ya wanna know what Italian bread looks like after it's been baked for 3 hours?

Pretty much the same as coal........black the whole way through.

Penis joke......

Yup, that's the whole highlight of this post, a penis joke plus my usual Bush bashing..........

It snowed here Monday morning, just enough to coat the ground.

Did some errands and got to follow a nervous Nellie going about 12 mph in a 45 mph zone. It's always fun to follow an old lady that can barely see over the steering wheel of her husbands Cadillac.

Wow, that's a lot of ads.

Music without copy protection.

Here's a coat that has it's own speaker system. I'm sure that wouldn't annoy anyone.

Tasteless penis joke..........

Don't laugh!" said the patient, Ed.

"Of course I won't laugh," the doctor said. "I'm a professional. In over twenty years I've never laughed at a patient."

"Okay then," Ed said, and proceeded to drop his trousers, revealing the tiniest penis the doctor had ever seen. It couldn't have been bigger than the size of a AAA battery.

Unable to control himself, the doctor started giggling, then fell laughing to the floor. Ten minutes later he was able to struggle to his feet and regain his composure.

"I'm so sorry," said the doctor. "I really am. I don't know what came over me. On my honor as a doctor and a gentleman, I promise it won't happen again.

Now...what seems to be the problem?"

"It's swollen," Ed replied.

I'm guessing little Johnny didn't want to make a funny face along with the rest of his classmates.

I wonder if they need anyone to make donuts?

Here's why doctors make so much money.............

A mechanic was removing a cylinder-head from the motor of a Dodge SRT-4 when he spotted a well-known cardiologist in his shop.

The cardiologist was there waiting for the service manager to come take a look at his car when the mechanic shouted across the garage "Hey Doc, want to take a look at this?"

The cardiologist, a bit surprised, walked over to where the mechanic was working on the SRT. The mechanic straightened up, wiped his hands on a rag and asked,

"So Doc, look at this engine. I open its heart, take the valves out, repair any damage, and then put them back in, and when I finish, it works just like new.

So how can I make 39,675 a year, a pretty small salary, and you get the really big bucks, $1,695,759, when you and I are doing basically the same work?"

The cardiologist paused, smiled and leaned over, then whispered to the mechanic...

''Try doing it with the engine running."

More emails you shouldn't open up.

Bush has his State of the Union address tonight, I'll miss it due to my work schedule but it will be interesting to hear what Congress has to say about it and his poor job performance. I know what I think about the guy and his surge.

Woo hoo........WRC started back up last week. If I ever earn enough money to take a trip overseas.......I'd take a trip to Monte Carlo.

I don't like heights a whole bunch, but damn........this looks like fun.

I hate DRM..........

DRM........Digital Rights Management. I am putting a whole bunch of CD's a client owns onto a portable hard drive so they can put them on several computers they own. DRM on CD's prevents most folks from ripping the music on the CD's into MP3's and doing what they want with them.

Fortunately, I have a program which bypasses the copy protection so I can convert all the CD's I want to. I'm not stealing anything, I'm just converting the CD's into a different format (MP3) so my client can share them on their MP3 players, laptops and their other computers. What a pain.

25 dead in one day? This shit has got to stop.

This video isn't work safe due to quite a few "F" bombs and other objectionable language ..........but it would interesting if it showed up on TV.....click here if you're not easily offended by foul language and crude humor. If you are easily offended....click this instead.

You clicked both anyways, didn't you?

There's a new worm out there, as usual.....don't open attachments you weren't expecting.

Our daughter has this guy beat by a bunch. She reads books faster then anyone I know.

Now this is a good mom.

Been kinda busy to blog much......

Here's the video of that car crash I was talking about in my last blog post. Having an SUV doesn't mean you are ten feet tall, bulletproof and invisible.......

This is our slow time of the year at work, that suits me just fine as I get to work by myself. Everyone one else at work on my shift seems to be getting sick with colds and the flu, hopefully I'll avoid that this year.

Damn Small Linux has a new distro. If you have an old computer.......this is the Linux for you. I use this on my old 667 mhz box with 64 megs of RAM and it works just fine.

Happiness is a 25 dollar knife....

I don't ask for much at work.....but I really like to have at least one sharp knife to use.

Since one of our part-timers used the last good knife we had to open cardboard boxes with.......I went out and bought a really good knife that the store reimbursed me for. I don't think they were entirely happy about buying a 25 dollar knife, but I figure it's easier to ask for forgiveness then permission.

Besides, having a really sharp knife that is well balanced is so much better then using those 3 dollar knifes that most places sell.

This scares me shitless. There isn't a day that doesn't go by that I don't think about the Big "C"....I smoked for 20 years or so........I sure hope I quit early enough.

The price sure goes down a lot slower then it goes up.

I think she is in the running for Mom of the Year, I can't believe she didn't win last year.

Looks totally way cool, but I still can't get over how much it costs.....that's a lot of money for something that doesn't have a user replaceable battery.

I wish I coulda been there, I used to love playing with my scale racecar track when I was a kid.....this one's quite a bit larger then anything I ever had.

How much you wanna bet Scooter gets pardoned before 43 leaves office?

Our son already has his expansion pack installed. I don't know much about W.O.W., but as long as he keeps his grades up, I have no problem paying for his habit. He could have worse hobbies....

Looks like we finally got some cold weather...

....while 30 degrees hardly qualifies for bitter cold, it is a shock to the system from the 5o's and 60's we've been enjoying. I was watching the news last night and watched some poor driver in an SUV slide on some ice and managed to hit at least 4 cars, a wall and a pole over the course of maybe 30 seconds.

He was only going maybe 5 or 10 mph, but I'm betting the only undented sheetmetal on his vehicle was the roof.

Got all my paperwork back from the state, looks like our son and I will be going to the bank on Thursday to open up a business account. Woo hoo.......we're almost officially official!

Still waiting.......

Still waiting for some cold weather. Actually, I won't mind a bit if winter skips us entirely this year. It will be a rude shock to the system when it does finally get down into the 30's.....

You might want to read this if you own a Dell notebook.

I've never owned a Dell, some folks I know that have them love them, others are less then happy. I buy mostly HP stuff, I'm not saying that it's the best product out there-but I haven't had many problems with their stuff.

29 Liquids which Should Never be Allowed on Commercial Aircraft.

Coolest bike you will see today.

Damn, Americans are stoopid.

This oughta be interesting. I'd listen, but I can't stand to listen to the guy talk. Maybe they could have Nancy and Dick do something like a Wrestlemania show or something.

This is from a Japanese game show. If they tried that shit here, there'd probably be some people that would end up dead.

I wonder if I could talk the other guys that work 3rd shift with me into helping me do this.

Anybody here old enough to remember when this movie came out. It's in my top 5 movies for sure.

How about a smiley? Damn, now I'm really dating myself-I can remember when they were a fad back in the 70's

Stand up against the surge.......gotta dig where Molly Ivins is coming from, government works for us.

Damn, this Wal-Mart is trashed. From what I understand, we live near the No#2 store (in sales) for the entire company. It sure doesn't look like the one in the link.

George sounds like a petulant 12 year old boy. Hopefully, someone will come up with a better plan. I'm not the smartest guy in the world, but if he was gonna send extra troops in.......he shoulda did that a few years ago.

"No matter what"....hopefully guys like Murtha will show him how government is supposed to work when there is an asshat in the Oval Office. Am I a Democratic fanboy? Hardly, but I am a fan of the 2 party system.....let's hope it proves itself in the next 2 years.

I know I've posted this before, but I just can't help myself from reposting it. Those are some awesome toilets. If I had one, I'd probably stand there and see what I could manage to make it flush.

If we keep electing people like Bush to the Presidency, I don't think it would take 500 years for this to happen. Hell, go shopping at Costco or sightseeing in NYC and you can see it already happening...never underestimate the stupidity of people in large groups.

This article is funny, my wife and i just bought my parents one of those new-fangled DVD players. And I still use my trusty VCR to time shift just about everything I watch.

Check this bitch out.

I have no idea what these folks are saying, but any video with Thermite in it is a good video.

I work at one of these monsters. I'm not surprised that most of the folks that shop there look kinda dazed. Our store is almost 1/4 of a mile wide.

A fellow central PA bike blogger goes for a ride on the York County Rail Trail. I'm just glad he wasn't mugged.

A man is having a few drinks at a bar when he looks over and notices a drunk guy passed out at a table nearby. The bartender tells him the drunk is Mr. Murphy and asks the man if he could drive Mr. Murphy home. Being a good Samaritan, the man agrees. The bartender writes down the address and gives it to him.

The man walks over and tries to wake Mr. Murphy but Mr. Murphy is groggy and quite drunk. The man helps Mr. Murphy to his feet and Mr. Murphy falls to the floor in a heap.

"Jeez," the man says wondering how anyone could drink so much. He takes Murphy by the arm and practically drags him out to the car. Once there he leans him against the side of his car while he looks for his keys. Mr. Murphy slides down to the ground. The man finds his keys and manages to get Murphy positioned in the car.

He then drives to the address the bartender gave him. He opens the passenger door and helps Mr. Murphy out and the guy falls to the ground. Cursing softly now, the man helps him to his feet and practically drags him to the front door. He lets go of Mr. Murphy to knock on the door and the guy falls down again. He helps him to his feet as Mrs. Murphy answers the door.

"Hi, Mrs. Murphy? Your husband had a little too much to drink tonight so I gave him a ride home."

"That was nice of you," she says, looking around, "But....where's his wheelchair?"

Gotcha on that "bitch" link didn't I?

Good article about crapware. I've set up a few PC's in the past month and they've all been full of it. It it was me, yes-I'd pay an extra 50 or 60 bucks to not have any of that stuff on my hard drive. It's a pain in the ass to completely remove it.

Best "I'm Sorry" note you will see today. Sometimes asshole parking doesn't work the way you want it to.

You might have to be a geek to understand this, but damn.... it sure would be fun.

After reading this, I'm pretty sure we ain't never gonna be leaving Iraq entirely. Gotta suck on that big fat oil pipe until it's all gone....then we'll leave.

If you watch one TV commercial today.....make it this one from Amnesty International.

I bookmarked this site and I'm betting you will too. Go ahead and check it out......I'll wait. Lots of good product reviews, huh?

Impeach the bastard........

I'm thinking 43 needs to get fired. Same thing with Dick.

Couple things come to mind when I read this article....

He's drinking again and he's genuinely lost his mind.

Nancy Pelosi and her band of Democrats better step up to the plate and put a stop to this insanity.

The Dems need to block more funding-it's blood money....plain and simple.

I am a fan of iTunes and iPods, I love how easy it is to use and manage playlists on my Nano, but in this case-they screwed up and need to pay up.

Oh hell yeah! Congress is leading by example........even if they don't want to....hats off to Mrs. Pelosi.

Much like there is "asshole parking"......I'm an "asshole former smoker" ..don't even think about lighting up a smoke when you're in my presence, I'll make a huge scene and maybe we can even have a fistfight over it. I'm pretty militant about not breathing your second hand smoke.

7 years and 48 years..........

I celebrate two anniversaries this week.

The first one is January 9th. One this day back in 2000, I quit smoking. Second best decision I ever made. The first best decision was asking my wife to marry me.

The second anniversary is my conception.

Actually, it's my parents anniversary. They were married on January 10th, 1959 and I was born on October 12th 1959. You do the math, my mom and dad had some good times on their honeymoon.

On a serious note, I couldn't ask for better parents and love both of them a whole bunch.

Anyone see the new Apple iPhone? Wow, 600 bucks for a phone. Looks really cool, but that's a lot of money.

This is a good read about a vet returning from Iraq. I read this article in the magazine and hunted down the link to the online version.

Our son is saving his money for a new gaming console. He was looking to buy an Xbox 360, but after playing with a Wii, he's decided he likes it better then the 360. Smart decision on his part-it's 150 dollars cheaper and it actually comes with a game that isn't a piece of crap. Xbox 360 games start at 60 bucks a piece and none come with the game.

Almost went for a ride.........

I had every intention of taking a nice long leisurely bike ride Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately for me, I wasn't feeling to spiffy when I woke up Sunday. Not sure what I was coming down with, but I went back to bed and after 7 more hours of sleep........all that's left is a headache.

Yea for me, I thought I was coming down with something.

This is a good read. The only one of these services I use is the Flickr service. I have no intentions of canceling it. Inadvertently, I almost let my membership lapse last year, if I remember correctly, if your paid membership lapses, all your pictures go into one big file.

I don't get into a whole lot of religion on this blog. I kinda figure what you believe in is your business and as long as someone doesn't try to ram their beliefs down my throat.....I'm okay with whatever someone wants to believe........having said that, this dude is over the top. I mean, what? Is the guy a fortune teller or a minister?

This is a good idea if you use a wireless router. If you hire me to install your wireless router.......this service is included:-)

I also received an e-mail from a client concerning this virus. It's not really a virus, but I told them to never open attachments unless they are expecting one.

I'd love to say that's an isolated incident but it's not.

Since I work in retail, I get to see bad behavior by parents all the time

Don't know if any of y'all use AVG anti-virus but if you do, I'm sure you've gotten a warning from them telling you your free anti-virus is going to expire soon. While it's not completely clear from the message that pops up is that they still will be offering free anti-virus and anti-spyware software..........you can find it here.

Of course.... my favorite is the donut.

The Donald sure has a bad temper.......and is that really his hair? At least he kicked in 10 grand to this guy. The guy is a hero in my book. We'd all like to think we could think that fast and act that bravely in a situation like that but I know I'd have a hard time doing something like that.

Whoever the guy was that decided to put twice as many perforations on a roll of paper towels is a genius. I end up using about 1 and 1/2 paper towels every time because I tear off 3 "half sheets" instead of just one.

We keep our house thermostat set at 66 degrees in the winter. Since our daughter has been home on break, we've had to bump it up a few degrees. My wife and I kinda like it cool, I've been roasting these past couple weeks. Maybe if we're lucky, we won't need much heat this winter.

This blog speaks the truth about how our older folks aren't being respected. I'm gonna be one of those older folks someday and if it keeps going the way it's going now-there will be lots of 19 year olds out there I'll be able to swear at.

Took a friend out yesterday to buy a computer, they got one helluva good deal on a laptop. I'm guessing since XP is on the way out and Vista will be here in a few weeks.....computer companies aren't selling many computers right now. I saw a laptop similar to what they bought yesterday for about 250 bucks more several weeks ago.

It's always fun to remove all the shovelware and go through countless updates when you set up a new computer.......I'm starting to get pretty good at it. Novice computer users must freak out when they try to set up a new computer, all kinds of dialog boxes pop up asking for permission to install updates and fill out forms.....

Oh, I forgot....that's why I started up my business:-)

I'm all registered and stuff...

Sent in all my info concerning registering my business to the bureaucracy of Pennsylvania. Not sure if guys in black helicopters show up now or what but I would imagine as soon as I get something in the mail-I'll be a "real" enterprise.

I'd like a few opinions, is the font on my website large enough? I had a couple folks tell me that it might be a good idea to make it a smidge larger. Thoughts? I'm keeping it really simple, as part of my target market will be folks my age and older. Lots of folks that are 50+ have computers but are not really comfortable using them and the less I confuse them-the better.

I managed to trick my sister-in-laws laptop to make it work with a new MP3 player she got for Christmas. First time in awhile that I've worked with Windows 2000 and what made it worse is that the laptop is fairly old and the software for the MP3 player wasn't designed for that version of Windows....had to find some obscure driver and that did the trick.

The hard drive on that bad boy is a whopping 6 GB, that tells you how old it is..

Unfortunately, the hard drive is almost completely full, I got about 40 songs on it before I ran out of room. I'm pretty sure I'll be hooking them up with a portable hard drive so they have some place to put their music collection.

Lord help us, Britney got shit faced again. I sure hope she was wearing underwear this time. I'd love to get paid 300,000 bucks to show up somewhere and pass out. Oh, I'm sorry, she was just tired.

I thought my glasses were strong.

This guy has a set of balls the size of bowling balls. He's a damn good pilot too.

Low pay? I don't think so. I've got no problem with cost of living increases, but 170,000 bucks a year plus federal bennies ain't chump change. Yeah, I know those judges could make a lot more as lawyers, but nobody held a gun to their heads to force them to be judges.

I am still marveling about our weather, this week it's supposed to be in the 40's and 50's. It's more like March weather the early January weather. I know I have a couple readers that live in Colorado that might disagree with me.....I have to be honest and say that I thought Willard Scott was 6 feet under. I'm glad he's still alive but I still think he's creepy.

Two men were sitting next to each other at a bar.

After a while, one guy looks at the other and says, "I can't help but think, from listening to you, that you're from Ireland."

The other guy responds proudly, "Yes, that I am!"

The first guy says, "So am I! And whereabouts from Ireland might you be?"

The other guy answers, "I'm from Dublin, I am."

The first guy responds, "Sure and begora, and so am I! And what street did you live on in Dublin?"

The other guy says, "A lovely little area it was, I lived on McCleary Street in the old central part of town."

The first guy says, "Faith, it's a small world, so did I! So did I!!

And to what school would you have been going?"

The other guy answers, "Well now, I went to St. Mary's of course."

The first guy gets really excited and says, "And so did I.

Tell me, what year did you graduate?"

The other guy answers, "Well, now, let's see, I graduated in 1964."

The first guy exclaims, "The Good Lord must be smiling down upon us! I can hardly believe our good luck at winding up in the same bar tonight.

Can you believe it - I graduated from St. Mary's in 1964 my own self."

About this time, Vicky walks into the bar, sits down, and orders a beer.

Brian, the bartender, walks over to Vicky, shaking his head & mutters,

"It's going to be a long night tonight!!!!"

Vicky asks, "Why do you say that, Brian?"

"The Kelly twins are drunk again."

Me? I didn't have a drop of alcohol-I was in bed by 9 PM.

Here's a couple pictures of my home office set up.....

As you can see, it is indeed on our dining room table. Sure hope we don't invite anyone over for a fancy dinner.

Here's my vice-president of operations researching World of Warcraft. If anyone needs help learning how to play WoW or just about any other computer, console or Nintendo DS game......he's your guy. I'm sure his rates are reasonable.

This is the portable hard drive I bought this weekend. It sure is purty. It's a SimpleTech and I bought the 40 GB version as that has more then enough space for what I need.

We also bought a new printer, it's a HP C3150. I know lots of folks bag on HP printers but we bought our daughter one last year (same model) and my mom also has an HP on my recommendation. So far, I like this unit. I haven't printed out any pictures with it, but having a scanner and a copier is really going to come in handy.

My laptop is an HP DV 6000. It's set up similar to this one only I have 2 GB's of memory, the 256 meg video card, the AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-60 processor and a 120 GB hard drive. 2 gigs of RAM might seem like overkill (and it probably is) but having that much RAM and a fairly nice sized video card means I can have all kinds of stuff running at the same time and the laptop is still quick.

I thought about upgrading it to Vista in 6 months but unless there is some compelling reason I need to, I'll probaly just continue to run XP on it and buy a new desktop with Vista preinstalled. That's down the road at least 6 months to a year, I'll let Microsoft work out some bugs on Vista before I spend the money.

Don't know what everyone's weather is like, but here in PA.....it's sure ain't winter. Temps in the 40's and 50's are more like early spring.....we'll probably get 6 feet of snow in January and February just because I said something.

Festivus may be a made up holiday, but this guy is making some bucks off of it.

Make your own fractals. If I had more time to play around with my camera, I'd try it, they look pretty cool. More here.

Today's Art Break. I don't know about you folks, but I love looking at "art cars".....

There is a Burt Reynolds museum in Florida. I wanna go. Seriously. When I was a kid, all my friends had Trans Ams....and we all went to see Smokey and the Bandit over and over.....

I don't know what you people think, but I think Willard Scott was damn scary. Here's proof.

I like how this guy thinks. He'd be fun to have as a neighbor.

Wow, I don't remember 1977 as being so groovy. I guess the folks at the ad agencies smoked a lot of dope back then.

This is a good commercial.

I love this website. I could watch this for a few weeks nonstop....

All the bad stuff I said about George Bush.....I take back. Of course I'm just kidding, the guy is still as thick as ever.

What exactly does that pole attach to?

It's 1971 again. I had one of those and I used to use it all the time. Check out those trippin' clothing styles.

What's your New Year's resolution?

Ah......I don't really have one.

I figure as long as I don't wake up dead....I'll work with that and make the rest up as I go along.

As long as my family is healthy....anything else is just extra whipped cream on my pudding.

Happy New Year!

Till later.
