I usually like movies where stuff explodes all the time...........but sometimes there is room for something different. Don't ask me why, but I really liked Hairspray. Probably one of the best musical comedies I've ever seen. My mom would enjoy this movie, she grew up in Baltimore in the 50's......

I got up this morning and our cat was online.....

Damn cat.

Cat in a box.

Kinda like Bob Ross on acid.

Nice free photo resizer. Does some other stuff too like watermarking. Free is good.

I like to watch all the cooking shows, reality isn't anything like TV. For one thing, most kitchen and bakeries are hotter then hell most of the year. I don't see too many TV stars sweat. You don't get to take many breaks and it helps to be able to keep track of a dozen always changing tasks all at the same time.

Me? I enjoy the heck out of it, my bosses wonder how I manage to get done the amount of work I do in 8 hours.......I'm really good at multitasking.

If I ever win a stupid amount of money playing Lotto........I'm gonna call these folks up and have them send me one of everything.....nah, but I would like this. What can I say, I like cameras.

Thanks Ray........

Thanks for the stickers Ray..........

Ray, you're gonna hate me, but at least one of them is going on my lawn mower.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately....but I've been busy.

Somebody ain't tellin' the truth...

As often as it blows up..........Who could blame them for having a few drinks?

I sure wish they had this when I bought my Plymouth Grand Voyager back in 1999. It woulds saved me 1600 bucks when my transaxle imploded 3000 miles out of warranty.

Good time to buy a house. I pass a new development on my way to work and they've reduced their prices by 40,000 bucks in the past 2 months.

I'm sure glad I don't have to fly.

Stop screwing around. Yeah, I'm talking to you Ray......

I love my new handlebars.....

Never knew how darn comfy mustache bars were.

Image Hosted by
I kinda dig how they look as well. I only rode around the neighborhood but I'm liking not being bent over so much.

I used that Specialized bar tape that comes with the gel's super comfortable.

In other bike Redline Monocog hasn't sold yet....I've reduced the price by 50 bucks, go here for a picture, click on the little boxes in the pic for more details.........I really, really want a new camera:-)

In more bike news.......I am so over with following bike racing-those guys shoot up more dope then race horses. When will it end?

Here's a shocker.......people aren't willing to pay 600 dollars for a fancy phone with crappy internet access.

I'm thinking she's close to rock bottom. I really do feel bad for her for some reason.....

Soon they'll be claiming bottle water is bad for you.

Ow cursor is on fire.

This is probably a bad idea. has been updated....this is far and away my favorite pic.

Sometimes I think fixing computers is a combination part skill, part experience and part just dumb luck. I was working on a client's computer over the weekend....they couldn't get on the internet. They have an older laptop with Windows 2000 and very little hard drive space to play with.

I knew they had a live internet connection, my laptop had no problem accessing the net. Took me a little while but with a combination of enabling, disabling, installing and uninstalling some stuff...badda bing it started to work.

Fortunately they are shopping for a new computer soon, the new ones are so much easier to configure.

Our son spent Saturday evening over at my in-laws house, he took his laptop with him and he's showing his grandma how to use a computer and how to look up stuff on the internet.

I'm in the process of updating one of my father-in-laws old PC's so he can get all his old stuff off of it before he retires it. He has a PC that's running Windows 95a...totally old school. The only problem I'm having is that 95a doesn't have USB support so I can't get the USB card I put in to work yet.......I have a few tricks up my sleeve to try yet, so I haven't given up. I really don't wanna have to hook it up to the internet or use the floppy drive to transfer would take too long.

You know how they say mechanics usually have the crappiest cars? I don't have the crappiest computer but I did perform some long put off maintenance yesterday. The hard drive was over 30% fragmented, and since I install and uninstall tons of apps, the registry was clogged up with all kinds of unused stuff.

It's a lot faster now:-)

Any factory that makes chili sauce and pet food......mmmmm.

We have the Blockbuster DVD plan and to be beats the pants off of Netflix.

George Bush proves he's an ass once again. I'm not the smartest guy in the world, but I'm pretty sure we could figure out a way to provide health care to all children under the age of 21......besides visiting the emergency room.

Following my wife's example.......

Couple months ago, my lovely wife started regularly walking on our treadmill and has lost a significant amount of weight. She wasn't that overweight to start with, but she wasn't fitting into her clothes so she decided to do something about it.

I went out and bought new clothes.

Since my knees started giving me problems with arthritis, I haven't been out riding as nearly as much as I wanted to and I probably picked up 20 pounds.

Not good.

I rode almost every morning last week on the flat roads by the ocean and really enjoyed getting some exercise. There ain't no way I can do everyday around here in hilly Central PA, so I decided to hit our Nordictrack for an hour everyday. Nothing to tough to start off with, just working up a good sweat.

So far, so good as I don't really have to bend my knees a whole lot when I use it and hopefully I burn a ton of calories off, because I LOVE TO EAT.

My wife and I were watching Oprah a couple days ago while we were exercising and she had the cast of Hairspray on the show....looks like it's gonna be a great remake.

My dear friend Hank forwarded me this.........

Recently, I was diagnosed with A. A. A. D. D. -
Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder. This is how it develops:

I decide to water my garden.

As I turn on the hose in the driveway, I look over at my car and
decide my car needs washing.

As I start toward the garage, I notice that there is mail on the
porch table that I brought up from the mailbox earlier.

I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car.

I lay my car keys down on the table, put the junk mail in the
garbage can under the table, and notice that the can is full.

So, I decide to put the bills back on the table and take out the
garbage first.

But then I think, since I'm going to be near the mailbox, when I
take out the garbage anyway, I may as well pay the bills first.

I take my checkbook off the table, and see that there is only 1
check left. My extra checks are in my desk in the study, so I go
inside the house to my desk where I find the can of Coke that I had

I'm going to look for my checks, but first I need to push the
Coke aside so that I don't accidentally knock it over. I see that the
is getting warm, and I decide I should put it in the refrigerator to

As I head toward the kitchen with the Coke, a vase of flowers on
the counter catches my eye--they need to be watered.

I set the Coke down on the counter, and I discover my reading
glasses that I've been searching for all morning.

I decide I better put them back on my desk, but first I'm going
to water the flowers.

I set the glasses back down on the counter, fill a container with
water and suddenly I spot the TV remote someone left it on the kitchen

I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV, I will be looking
for the remote, but I won't remember that it's on the kitchen table, so
decide to put it back in the den where it belongs, but first I'll water

I pour some water in the flowers, but quite a bit of it spills on
the floor. So, I set the remote back down on the table, get some
towels and wipe up the spill.

Then, I head down the hall trying to remember what I was planning
to do.

At the end of the day:

----the car isn't washed,

----the bills aren't paid,

----there is a warm can of Coke sitting on the counter,

----the flowers don't have enough water,

----there is still only 1 check in my checkbook,

----I can't find the remote,

----I can't find my glasses,

----and I don't remember what I did with the car keys.

Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today, I'm
really baffled because I know I was busy all day long, and I'm really

I realize this is a serious problem, and I'll try to get some
help for it, but first I'll check my e-mail.

Do me a favor, will you? Forward this message to everyone you
know, because I don't remember to whom it has been sent.

Don't laugh -- if this isn't you yet, your day is coming!

P.S. I just remembered.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only person that wonders aimlessly around their house.....

One of my favorite websites has pictures from the top of the Bay Bridge in San Francisco.

My first new car. I beat that thing senseless for 8 years and didn't spend a dime on repairs. Best car I ever had.

I love the picture, maybe they'll find his brains when they're in there.

Pea soup.....

Our daughter makes really good ham and pea soup....just thought I'd throw that out there............

Daniel sent me this link about breast cancer. It's a pretty good article about a serious subject.....why the hell do they have a picture of a girl holding two grapefruits up to hide her boobs? Kinda detracts from the seriousness of the article.

Continuing on the family theme, our daughter sent me this link. Oh man. When I was a kid I went to parties like that, only we didn't call them "White Trash Parties" ...everyone's parties where like that.

Expensive cat warmer.

I bet Wal-Mart sells a ton of these. It's not a bad computer if all you're gonna do is surf the web and write e-mails. The price is sort of misleading.......doesn't include a monitor, so figure in another 150 bucks for a cheap 17" LCD. I'm doing some consulting for a client and they saw a Dell advertised for a really good price. I hate it when Dell does that, the PC they usually advertise a "stripper" with no extras whatsoever. By the time you add in what shoulda been there in the first almost doubles the price.

They shoulda left her in jail. She can't be that damn dumb for realsies...

Please buy my bike.......

I'm selling my 25th Anniversary Redline Monocog. The money is going to buy your favorite blogger a new camera. Do I need a new camera? Probably not, but I really want a camera that has more settings and manual controls so I can be more creative with my photography.

With my arthritis in my knees, it's a painful experience riding it, so I may as well turn the bike into a camera....that way someone else can enjoy the bike and I can expand my creative talent taking pictures.....that and my wife won't strangle me because I went out and spent a ton of money.

I am really enjoying having a go with Knoppix Linux on my old PC. Kinda like learning how to use a computer all over again. I want to buy a Knoppix for Dummies book so I can speed up my learning curve.

I sure wish these guys would stop mentally masturbating each other and do something.

I'm not making fun of this guy because he's fat.......I'm making fun of him because he's dumb. Having your doctor tell you to take up a fun but safe activity doesn't include river tubing. What size tube would he need anyway? Probably something off a truck like this. The dude needs to get a bicycle and find a safe place to ride some. He'll be slim in no time and he'll have more least he's not as dumb as this guy.

Bend over. You'd think they could come up with a better headline.

Fruits and veggies are good for you even if they don't cure cancer. Donuts............not so much.

Our score was 55....not so good.

He really has lost is mind, for as much as our servicemen and woman have gone through in the past 5 years..........he oughta be ashamed. I'd like to see him ride along.....

I love the placement of the very last ad....

My poo doesn't stink.

My friend Doug sent me this.....I could see how folks could fall for this one.

Till later............. and someone please buy my bike.

Creaky no more.........

I actually fixed my bike all by myself. I kinda hate to admit that the creak coming from the bottom bracket area was a loose was just about ready to fall off. I went to check the tightness of the crankarm bolts and the left side bolt wasn't even finger tight.

I went back to work yesterday, the guy that filled in for me is legally blind and he is a "Messy Marvin". Since I am positively anal about's gonna take me a couple nights to get everything back to how I like it. I have no idea how he does his job with his limited eyesight.

My wife also went back to work, she put in 11 hours and still isn't close to catching up yet.

Sometimes vacations are a pain in the butt.

I do kinda like Homer and his donut. Those Pagans need to get a sense of humor. I guess Satan doesn't like donuts.

Everyone probably has a differing opinion about marijuana growers....sure, it's illegal so the growers are breaking the law and if they use guns or threaten people, that's even worse...but I'm pretty sure they ain't terrorists. I mean, they might have a part time job as a terrorist, but growing pot doesn't put them on the same level as Al Qaeda.

Creativity takes many forms.....even school buses.

Got me a creaky bike..........

Somewhere in the bottom bracket or pedals on my Cross-Check.....I have a really bad creak.

The bike is overdue for some service so it's gonna go into the LBS for some work.

It pretty much needs a new drivetrain anyways. The chainrings are starting to get hook shaped....yeah, yeah I know-I shoulda swapped out the chain before but it's just one of those things that kept getting put off.

I did order a new set of handlebars, looking forward to changing out to a slightly shorter stem and not being quite as bent over while I ride. I might even flip them upside down for even more of an upright riding position....I really don't care how dorky it looks.

I have a Cannondale R500, so no need for my everyday bike to have drop bars. I'm too old for that all the time anyways..........

I also gotta get the green monster scheduled for it's state inspection and get the electrics sorted out. I'm sure it's electrical, because the panel that controls the AC also controls the rear wiper and washer and none of that stuff works.....lovely. I learned my lesson, this will be the last Chrysler I ever buy.

Our daughter can multi-task. Here she is cooking something on the stove, talking to her boyfriend on her laptop and pointing out a bug she just killed with her bare foot. We need one of these. She's a really creative cook, she gave me these links as inspiration for my cooking. In case you're wondering...this one is my favorite, hands down.

If anyone has an extra 300 dollars burning a hole in their pocket.......please buy me this. I think I might sell a bike to buy's on my wish list:-)

Read this blog post from Cycledog......he's included some good health related links.

This bike blogger rocks the "eat local" scene. Check out these veggies....

A group of people died and went up to heaven, and they were greeted by god.

God said "If you control your wife stand at my right, and if your wife controls you, stand on my left".

All the man stood on gods left except one.

God walked up to him and said "What makes you think you need to be here?", So the man said "I dunno... my wife told me to stand here"

..........I'd be on the left.

Dumbass on a cellphone.

Oh yeah, this kid is a terrorist. Somebody has/had their head up their ass. A little common sense goes a long way.....

Two little kids are in a hospital, lying on stretchers next to each other, outside the operating room.

The first kid leans over and asks, "What are you in here for?"

The second kid says, "I'm in here to get my tonsils out and I'm a little nervous."

The first kid says, You've got nothing to worry about. I had that done when I was four. They put you to sleep, and when you wake up they give you lots of Jell-O and ice cream. It's a breeze."

The second kid then asks, "What are you here for?"

The first kid says, "A circumcision."

The second kid replies, "Whoa, good luck buddy, I had that done when I was born. Couldn't walk for a year....

My opinion...? Let's pack our bags and get the hell out before he changes his mind.

One day Mom was cleaning Little Johnny's room and in the closet she found a collection are horendous S&M magazines. This was highly upsetting for her. She hid the magazine until his Father got home and showed it to him. He looked at it and handed it back to her with out a word. So she asked him, "What should we do about this?" Dad looked at her and said, "Well I don’t think you should spank him."

Save the eggs for last.

I was using the computer that was installed at the condo last week....Now I realize how many ad and ad banners I miss using my own laptop. Wanna see less ads? Use Firefox with the Ad Blocker Plus extension and this modified host file. If your computer is halfway secure, it's gonna set off all kinds of alarm bells when you try to install the host file. Trust me, it works great and if you don't like shows up in the Add/Remove applet.

I see very few ads:-)

Till later.

We are back...........

Back in town ......slept in our own bed last night. Evidently, I snored so loudly my lovely wife had to seek refuge on the couch.

I was tired.

You can take two ways back to where we live from the shore-one is all highway and one is mostly rural roads. Both take roughly the same amount of time...we took the rural road back into town. Way less stress driving and you get to see some very nice countryside.

I haven't checked my stats lately so I don't know if I have any readers in Delaware....but your state is flat. Absolutely nothing wrong with flat (my knees are glad for flat roads last week) but coming from the rolling hills of PA, it certainly is different.

Someday when I'm rich......I'd like to rent a condo at the beach for a couple months at a time and invite friends and family down for a week.

It was nice being with family for the week.

.........and I really like being around the ocean.

Gotta go vacuum a couple pounds of sand out of the van....

Cruiser time......

I'm such a sucker for bass boat blue......and I love me some cruiser beach bikes. If it wouldn't be such a pain in the butt, I'd bring my Kona choppper to the beach.

Our condo came equipped with a set of beach cruiser bikes so I decided I'd take one out for a spin Thursday morning. The morning started out extremely overcast but 1/2 way into the ride.....the clouds magically parted and left clear blue sky in their wake.

I think this might be one of my favorite pictures of the week so far....

I rode back into one of the areas where 4WD trucks can pull into the beach to do surf casting, it's not something I'd do with my Surly, but I figured it wouldn't really hurt a 89 dollar Wal-Mart bike. As it turned out, I was right; the sand that made it's way into the unsealed bottom bracket eventually ground itself up.

Here's a panoramic view of the bay. Click to make biggerer.

Here's a picture of last night's sunset. I put 3 pictures together (I'm an amateur, you can see the seams) but I thing it's cool nonetheless because of the colors. I told y'all in the beginning of the week I like sunsets.....

After a week of riding and knees are killing me, but it was totally worth it......

More on the Pope.....all I can say is he sure doesn't mind stirring stuff up. Kinda reminds me of #43 with his single mindedness.

Woo hoo....Chrysler reduced the price of their new minivans. I have a 2001 model-I wouldn't buy another unless I was forced to at gunpoint. I'm hoping there will be a Smart car dealership around when I buy another vehicle in a couple years.

I'd like one of these. 40 gigs a second? Sign me up.

I like ice cream an awful lot.....but these are just plain awful.

Ocean City...

I rode down into O.C. Wednesday morning. Got kind of a late start, spent too much time in the AM screwing around on the internets. All I can say is that it was HOT. I think I saw one of those bank thermometers say 94 degrees. Well, it didn't actually get the idea.

Daniel and I hit the beach for about 20 minutes before we decided to head back to the condo's pool area and chill out. Good move on our part, the water was way warmer, no sand, no wind and no little kids screaming at the top of their lungs constantly.

I must be getting old because I really like my peace and quiet.

A little windy

I forgot how windy it is down at the shore. I rode from Fenwick Island up to Rehobeth Beach and it was a nice ride. The reason it was a nice ride is because I was riding with the wind.

That fact became apparent when I turned around.

I said some bad words when I realized what a slog I was in for the next hour and a half.

Tomorrow, I think I'll head into the wind first and have it at my back on the way home.

As usual, I have more pics in my Picasa Web Album.

One thing I noticed on my ride is that there are a lot of older (65+) folks out on bikes.

Way cool.

I stopped and helped out a guy with a flat tire. He had a beach cruiser without quick releases and I brought along an adjustable wrench on my seatpost bag. We had the wheel off and the tubed patched in no time. Just like the other day when someone returned my's always good to return some good karma.

I almost forgot......I also put pictures of our cat in my online vacation album, Belle is on vacation at my mom and dad's house visiting her cousin Molly. I don't think they are gonna be best friends forever, but at least they haven't killed each other yet.

I could almost believe this.

Those Chinese don't screw around. Hell, if they did the same thing here in the USA.....we would be short a metric buttload of politicians.

Today's science break....a whole lotta nothing.

Politicians aren't crooks and liars and hypocrites......not.

I am so totally down with this. Soon I expect to see tip jars at fast food places. I'll ignore them just like all the others.

Holy stupid does he think the American public is? Evidently, he thinks we're pretty damn dumb. I think he needs to send the twins.

I don't touch on religion much on this blog....but the way I see it.... the Pope ain't helping with world peace a whole bunch. I'm not Catholic, so I suppose I'm not qualified to say much else.

And now for something completely different...

I went on a bike ride longer then a couple miles......30 miles to be exact.

Actually, I put in 3 times the amount of miles I was planning on because I lost my cellphone. I rode up the coast into Bethany Beach, stopped for papers (10 miles round trip) and rode back. When I opened up my rackbag-I realized that my phone wasn't there.

So.....I retraced my entire (another 10 miles) ride, looking at the side of the road for my phone. Didn't find it, kinda bummed out at the house about it and my lovely wife called it to see if anyone would pick up.

No one did but like most phones, it leaves a "missed call" message on the screen. The folks that did find it along the side of the road saw the missed message and called my wife's phone. Funny thing is, the guy found 3 phones while he was out on his run.

I got another ride in back up the coast (almost 10 miles) looking for their condo. Got 30 miles in on a planned 10 mile ride.

...and I have my phone.

..and I took a 3 hour nap Sunday afternoon.

I have all the pictures I've taken so far at the beach uploaded to my Picassa Web Album. I'll be adding more pictures as the week progresses.....warning, I like taking pictures of sunrises and sunsets.

This is what it looked like at 5:30 this morning... too foggy for a bike ride.

On the way down here yesterday, my air conditioning in the van decided to stop working. Not good as it was pretty darn hot and it was quite uncomfortable. It must be something electrical because when we stopped for a bathroom started to work again. We didn't touch the contols for the rest of the way in.......I just hope it works on the way home.

Our house is incredible....4 floors, a ton of bedrooms, windows and decks all over the place including wireless access. That's a good thing as we have 4 or 5 laptops and the computer the house comes with. I set my laptop out in a common area for everyone to use since the bedroom we are using already has a computer.

Mmmmm croissants. Gotta find me a local bakery down here as soon as possible. I brought my Surly Cross-Check with me, one of the best parts of taking vacation at the best is poking around on my bike. You get some awesome pics and find some good places to eat if you're lucky.

I guess everyone is like this in New Zealand.....

If you duct tape tree branches to your might be a redneck.

Well, his mom did say to call someone if he needed help.

I like these quotes....especially the last one.

Someone spent a lot of time doing this video.

Nobody can say airline pilots are overpaid.

That's all for now.......

Kitty cat on vacation

Our cat gets to spend the next week hanging out at my parent's house....

That's Belle on the left (our cat) and Molly on the right (my parent's cat)

They kinda hissed at each other for a day or so but they seeme to be getting along better now....

Dodged a bullet....

Last night my wife called me up on her cell and said she was in an accident.

Someone ran a red light and my wife broadsided them.

Their car ended in a drainage culvert and my wife's car had a fairly minor scrape across the front bumper.

I'm amazed the other driver wasn't hurt....coulda been much worse.'s off to Fenwick Island for a week, our place has internet so if I figure out how to make it work-I'll post up some pics.

Till later.

Lots of computer stuff.....

Been super busy with computers the last couple days.

I'm not complaining, just an observation. Seems like it's either busy as all get-out or I have nothing going on. I'm finishing setting up a new laptop and printer for a college bound client. We bought a very nice laptop, a printer,copier/scanner,extra ink, a portable 250 gig hard drive and a 2 gig USB stick.

Took me a day or so to install all the software and find updated drivers for the printer but it's tight.........I love the smell of fresh electronic stuff:-)

Vacation starts in 5 days, I'm going to make up for the the lack of pictures and bike rides on his blog and I'm taking my laptop (we have wireless access in our condo) so I'll post up some pictures....My in-laws rented a couple of adjoining beach houses and invited the entire family. Should be a fun time.

Anybody buy an iPhone? We drove past an iPhone store on Friday evening and the line of people snaked way out into the parking lot. Looks like some folks have more money then brains. If I had 600 bucks burning a hole in my pocket and was shopping for a fancy phone.....the iPhone wouldn't be #1 on my list.

I have to side with Elizabeth Edwards on this one. If Ann were to be arrested as a "enemy combatant" and stuffed into Guantanamo for spouting hate speech and terroristic threats....I'm sure she'd change her tune. Lots of folks have died defending her right to be an asshole over the last 230 years in the country. If she wants to attack Edwards on the issues...fine. Wishing the guy would die in a terror attack.....that's over the line.

I usually fairly liberal about government, but I favor this and wish they'd do it in the USA. Yeah, I know it's kinda Big Brotherish, but since their is no safe level of exposure.....screw being polite to smokers that pollute the air I breathe.

You really don't need to register at this site, but check out the drop down list for "Title".

I'd have to say the answer is NO.

This has to be the coolest car/gasoline commercial ever.

Not your normal pillow. Make sure you scroll to the right....

Missing puzzle pieces.

Me? I think I'd consider wearing a parachute to work. Puts the phrase "My day sucked" into a whole new light.

This doesn't happen often........I'm agreeing with George Bush. 2 1/2 years in prison is excessive. Besides... anyone named "Scooter" ain't gonna last long in prison.

I drink it just like most everyone else, but it is kinda dumb if you think about it.

Just a quick note.......I use Firefox with the Adblock Plus extension..........I've had a couple folks e mail me about ad pop-ups on some of the sites I link. I gotta be honest and say I don't see very many ads using the aforementioned browser.........just lots of dumb sites like this.

Friends don't let friends use IE7
