Blogger tag........

A fellow local bike blogger tagged me...........

What were you doing 5 years ago?

-Riding my bike a whole lot more. Arthritis in my knees has sharply curtailed the amount of time I can be out.

What are five things on your to-do list for today?

-Finish pulling off the data from a clients laptop so he can get the motherboard replaced. Yeah, I know the hard drive has nothing to do with the motherboard, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

-Sleep.

-Go to the store and buy an adapter for the powerport in my minivan.

-Shave.

-Make donuts.

What are five snacks you enjoy?

-Ice cream

-Baked Lays chips

-Pizza

-7&7's

-Milkshakes

What are five things you would do if you were a billionaire?

-Set my immediate family up so they could retire if they choose. All other cousins, 2nd cousins, aunts, uncles and whoever else crawled out of the woodwork.....a check for 500,000 bucks and an education fund for all of them that pays for college as long as they keep an 85% grade average....and they have to sign something that says they will never ask me for money again.

-Donate enough money to the Lance Armstrong Foundation so Lance puts me on speed dial.

-Build a really nice vacation house down at the beach for the entire family to use.

-Travel all over the place in our private jet with my wife.

-Build my own ice cream plant that made any flavor I wanted.

What are five of your bad habits?

-I snore extremely loudly.

-I like to eat ice cream.

Those are the only two I am aware of.

What are five places where you have lived?

Lancaster when I was a small child and a few places here in York since age 5. Never more than a couple miles from where I grew up on Yale St.

What are five jobs you’ve had?

-Paper boy

-I used to cut lots of lawns for pocket money

-Auction runner

-Production manager at several large wholesale bakeries

-Donut guy.

I ain't tagging anyone......feel free to tag yourself, it's kinda fun to read these.

Soon time...........

Soon time for a little vacation.........we'll be heading down to Myrtle Beach the coming weekend. My sister in law, her kids and us will be sharing an awesome beach house down in North Myrtle Beach. We always have a great time...we all have the same mindset about vacation- we're in relaxation mode and usually don't race around trying to "see" things.

My goals for the week are.....

-Ride my bike

-Take some pictures

-Do fun stuff with my wife

-Catch up on some reading and TV shows

I think one of my favorite things to do since I'm an early riser is to grab a beach chair and sit on the beach at 5AM and watch the sun come up.

I'm not sure if we'll have internet access, but me and the kids are all taking our laptops-it's kinda of funny how you become attached to them. Daniel and I have a bunch of TV shows downloaded to watch in case it rains or whatever...gotta be prepared.

One of my clients paid me for his services and bought me a GPS system for my van. Since I've never had one before...there are pretty cool. Not something we'll be using all the time, but it will come in handy for our vacation and when my lovely wife has to take trips and isn't sure which roads to take.

I also had to replace my iPod, after close to 2 years of daily use...the battery no longer works for 8 hours. Since I use it at work every night- time to get a new one. I sure like how the iPod works, but I sure wish they had replaceable batteries.

I set up a new flat screen for one of my clients, I looked at a whole lot of TV's and sent them to a couple stores to check out the ones I liked the best. If you're on a budget-it's kinda of hard to beat the Vizio line of LCD TV's. Set up was very simple and my clients were super stoked-they went from a 15 year old TV to a 37 inch flat screen.

I also have a client that is about to learn a hard lesson about backing up.....they had a power surge during a thunderstorm last week and I'm pretty sure their hard drive got zapped. I took it out of their laptop and powered it up it hooked it up to one of my machines....ain't nothing there. One of those high priced drive recovery services could probably get the data off of it at a price. Back your stuff up folks, this client lost a couple years of family pictures. Not good.

Donuts news...same old stuff. I am training a new associate that is just about finished culinary school, I wish all trainees were this smart.

This is a great idea, I'd like to see this instituted everywhere. Also, HFCS should be outlawed. I ain't the skinniest guy in the world, but when you are so fat you waddle instead of walk...that's not good.

A joke......

A man was riding his Harley along a California beach when suddenly the sky parted above his head and in a booming voice, the Lord said, 'Because you have tried to be faithful to me in all ways, I will grant you one wish.'

The biker pulled over and said, 'Build a bridge to Hawaii so I can ride over anytime I want.

The Lord said, 'Your request is materialistic. Think of the enormous challenges for that kind of undertaking; the supports reaching the bottom of the Pacific and the concrete and steel it would take! It will nearly exhaust several natural resources. I can do it, but it is hard for me to justify your desire for worldly things.

Take a little more time and think of something that could possibly help mankind.

The biker thought about it for a long time.

Finally, he said, 'Lord, I wish that I and all men could understand women; I want to know how she feels inside, what she's thinking when she gives me the silent treatment, why she cries, what she means when she says nothings wrong, and how I can make a woman truly happy.

The Lord replied, 'You want two lanes or four on that bridge?

Me? My one wish? A babillion dollars. Whoever said money can't buy happiness....I'd like to have the chance to prove them wrong.

You meet the nicest people.....

The best part of my job is I get to talk to some really unusual people from time to time.

We have our "regular" customers, like the guy who constantly "adjusts" himself, the elderly lady that shoplifts us blind but we can never catch and a host of other characters.

This past weekend, I had an older gentleman talk to me the whole time his wife was shopping. Totally cool dude, he was a baker in the Navy back in the Korean War. I invited him back into the shop and we had ourselves a good ole time talking about what is was like back in the "old" days.

It's good to listen to someone with more life experience than I'll ever have. This guy was all over the world and got to see stuff I'll never see.....if every night at work is just as interesting as last night's was-I'd be okay with that.

Yum.....

Barry Cameron 1970- 2008

You were one helluva guy and probably the world's greatest dad.

Rest in peace.

Headache deluxe.......

I get maybe 3 or 4 migraines a year......yesterday was one of the occasions. I can't begin to describe how not fun it is.

Migraines come in all shapes and sizes, mine usually manifest themselves as pressure right behind my eyes and I see sparkly things when I close my eyelids.

At least it's over now, all I have left as a reminder is a sore neck.

Worst idea ever.

Handgun Bluetooth Handset

Holy crap.

Tighty whiteys.........

This is probably TMI, but I switched over to wearing baggy briefs about 10 years ago. Yesterday for some reason, I put on an old pair of tighty whiteys.

Big mistake, I kinda like the "freedom" of the baggy ones....I was probably kinda funny to watch at work last night, I was scrunching around all night like I was wearing a flank strap.

Needless to say, I got done work in record time.

Just got done redoing a client's computer, if you are running anything less than 2 gigs of RAM in your computer-it's time to step up to the plate and order more RAM. It makes even a slow computer bearable to use. I have 4 gigs in my laptop and if it would use more-I'd stick it in.

Been a few days.........

Been kinda busy lately.....computer stuff, work, etc....this is the first time for awhile that I've had a weekend off and as usual-I like to spend money.

Not sure what it is about going to Sam's Club, but I always manage to find stuff I didn't know I needed. Do I really need an entire case of diet peach papaya iced tea? Nope. Nor did I really need a set of knifes for work, but they were really nice knifes.....so I bought a set.

My wife and I took my pop down to Kain Park at sunrise to try out his new camera, I took some shots, but mine look like crap compared to his.

I'll share more of his stuff as he does it, he has a really good eye for framing his shots.

We ate at a really nice Thai restaurant Saturday evening. We had a whole bunch of different stuff and shared off each others plates. Not someplace I'd go every week (it was kinda expensive) but the food was good and a nice change of pace from what we usually have when we eat out.

After spending all of my overtime money on Saturday....we kicked it back for a nice mellow Sunday. Something about taking a nap in the middle of the day totally kicks ass.

Anyone out ther own an iPod Touch or an iPhone? I have an iPod touch and it became infinitely more useful (more free stuff) this week after Apple opened up their application store. You haven't lived until you play Texas Hold'em on a little 3 inch screen. Actually, it's kinda neat and as long as I'm near wi-fi, I can read the news, check the weather forecast and even look up local movie showtimes.

Latest fashion thing that I've seen that I don't understand.....people that wear sunglasses perched on top of their heads at all times of the day and night. If it's 3 AM....do you really need a pair of sunglasses?

Another one....young guys that wear their pants so loose they have to use one hand to hold them up at all times. I really must be an old geezer or something, but that really seems kinda dumb to me.

I wish I had one of these back when I was in high school.

If somebody buys me this, I'll put it in my front yard.

I like the way this little girl thinks.

Spaghetti....

I was downtown yesterday picking up our son's girlfriend....I'm amazed more pedestrians aren't run over. People that are talking on cellphones walk right out into traffic.

The folks driving and talking on cells are just as bad if not worse.

Typically, if I get a call when I'm driving-I'll send it to voice mail and call them back as soon as I get to where I'm going.

Nobody got the joke...or they think I'm really stupid.

I love me some cage fighting. No, not really- but I woulda loved to have been there (sitting in the back row so I didn't get hit by flying beers)

I'm with this dude.....I really don't give a shit. Same with this deal.

I wore my "Colege" shirt for the first time yesterday to a meeting at work.....I don't think anyone got the joke.....I guess you don't need to be a brain surgeon to work at a grocery store.

That was quite a week.

Most folks had a nice long 3 day weekend full of food, family and explosives.

Me?

I was slaving away over a hot donut fryer. I'm not complaining, I was on overtime most of the week and I have a 4 day weekend coming up, so I know I be spending some of my extra money on fine dining and a movie with my lovely wife.

Been busy with computer stuff as well, the top of my son and I's computer table is a mess, there's cables all over the place. Such is life.

My mom and I got together a couple weeks ago and we got my dad a new camera. Wow, is it ever nice. We drove down to Kain Park to take some pictures and barely beat a thunderstorm. My mom is a whiz at upload pics to the web, I'll post a few of pics when they show up...he's pretty good.

Friends of ours stopped by over the weekend, Todd was at the skating rink with their twins and had a bad fall on the ice. Turns out that he had an extremely bad concussion and they had to open up the side of his skull to relieve the pressure.

Tough way to get a cool scar.
