I've been a fan of Jamie Oliver for a long time......the guy is a great chef but more importantly- the guy is a great communicator and is passionate about healthy food.
I just watched his new show on ABC.
Making donuts for a living sort makes me feel like a crack dealer...but I don't hold a gun to any of my customers heads forcing them to buy donuts.
Ain't no way you can pretend donuts are good for you, so if you buy my stuff-eat it in moderation.
Not sure how well he is gonna go over in West By God Virginia.....but I can tell you that West Virginia isn't the only place in the USA that has loads of overweight people that have no idea what's in their food.
By no means am I a food chemist, but I've been in the food industry for 35 years in one form or another and I can tell you that if you read the label on the side of your favorite frozen food and you don't know or understand what some of the ingredients are or what they do......look them up on Google-you might be surprised what some of those unpronounceable chemicals actually are and what they do.
One of the companies I have worked for in the past would add a chemical to their donut dough just to make it easier to process it through their machinery....most food manufacturers don't have your best interest at heart.
Yeah, I'm just some dumbass that makes donuts for a living, but I see most of my customers....and there ain't many skinny donut enthusiasts.
till later.

This is disgusting.......
More kid touchers......looks like the corruption goes all the way to the top.
I'm not surprised.
This just ain't right.

I can barely climb a set of stairs........
.......but I can ride my bike again dammit.
I added a motor.
After watching my bikes gather dust last year....I decided to add a little assist to my hybrid last winter.
I did my research and decided to buy a top of the line system and motor- I wanted something that lasted for a long time- unfortunately...quality parts cost quality money.
So far, I added an additional gas tank so I can ride about 150 miles without stopping for fuel, I also added a larger muffler and sound absorbing exhaust tubing, a twist throttle and a better spark plug.
On flat ground.....it will go 35 mph. I'm not really planning on riding around at 35 mph all the time but it has plenty of power to get my fat ass up just about any hill around here.
I took it to the first group ride of our clubs calendar this past Sunday......overall, my friends thought it was a scream.
Really looking forward to getting out and about this year. It will be way cool to do some of the rides (and distances) I used to do in past years. Sure, I won't be able to put in nearly as much sweat equity like I used to do...but nothing beats fresh air in your face-even if it is 2 stroke gasoline assisted.
Since last December since my doc told me to lose weight to save some wear and tear on my knees-I've dropped about 30 pounds- I'd plan to lose another 30 pounds......my knees will thank me, but I kinda have a feeling the next 30 won't be nearly as easy as the first 30. I was only planning on losing a pound a week for a year so at this point-I'm ahead of the game.
Been busy as all get out between working 6 nights a week making donuts and fixing computers....haven't been updating my blog a whole bunch over the winter- I still post up some stuff over at Facebook.
I'll try to update this blog more often but I can't promise anything.
Hopefully.... I'll be out riding my bike!
Till later :-)
