I'm back from donut hell..........

I don't want to see another fashnacht until next year. I am totally wiped out. I lost track of how many I made, but it was a shitload. Here's a scary fact, I used 250 pounds of partially hydrogenated veg oil in the past 2 days. Mmmm, yuck.

I usually work by myself unless I'm training someone but last night I worked with a couple of my fellow employees that usually work in the daytime. Both of these folks smoke and to be honest, smoker's waste alot of time taking "smoke breaks".

I know because I used to smoke and I would plan 5 minute gaps in my production so I could slip away for a quick smoke. I forgot how rank smokers stink right after they are finished a cancer stick. I'm so glad I quit.

This is an excellent opinion on last weeks "Ports" debacle. Kinda funny how folks that ride bikes are usually pretty smart and write well, huh? Of course, I don't include my self in that group.....I just sorta hunt and peck...........

This short TV news feature about an autistic young basketball player has been on several of the blogs I read. Now it's on mine. I guarantee you that it'll make you smile.

Different folks have different ways of speaking........yes, they certainly do.

Combover Hall of Fame.

This is some scary stuff. I'm glad the girl had the smarts to go to the cops. Imagine how this guy's wife feels.

Rip your DVD's to your hard drive and then burn a back-up copy or 12. Too bad I don't own any DVD's.

Ten words that don't exist.

This is the first time I have ever agreed with the Bush White House. Hilary is gonna lose, but jumping Jesus on a pogo stick......Jeb Bush for president? Most of America probably would say the same thing if he does change his mind and runs. I'd like to see someone with a higher then room temperature IQ run this time. Maybe someone can talk Condi into running......Whatever, at least I have higher then a 34% approval rating.

Off to sleep for 14 hours.............till later.

Ever have one of those days........

I had one of the most unluckiest customers on the face of the Earth last night. This poor guy got sent out to the store by his wife to pick up his daughter's birthday cake.

Sounds typical so far, right?

Where we run into "issues" is the fact that the wife called in the order to what she thought was our store but in actualality, she called another store in our chain located 20 miles away. I got to talk to the guy's wife on his cellphone and she was about the rudest snotbag she could possibly be. She insisted she called our store and was gonna come in and rip my face off if I didn't decorate her a cake.

While I'm having this pleasant conversation, our assistant store manager is calling all the other stores to try and find this lady's cake. Luckily, he found it at the second store he called and I had the pleasure of telling this woman her husband had a little driving to do.

I just pity the poor husband, he has to live with her. She was a screamer.

I listen to some off-beat podcasts late at night when I'm making donuts, last night I listened to a couple guys interview a group of people that make adult films for a living and were at an actual filming of an adult movie. It's nothing like what it must appear like on film, everything is very businesslike behind the scenes and those folks make a shitload of money.

Porn must be popular.

Cleaning day........

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Since my wife and I both work 45 to 50 hours a week, usually the first thing we skip around the house is housecleaning. Who the hell wants to drag around a vacuum cleaner after working 9 or 10 hours?

For some reason, I got a wild hair up my ass yesterday when I woke up and did 5 straight hours of dusting, vacuuming, cleaning floors and toilets. My wife tends to save things, so I just piled up all her stuff up on the dining room table and cleaned everywhere else.

I'm very anal about sanitation when I am at work so the more I was cleaning things at home, the more stuff I was finding to clean. Sort of like a vicious circle only we ended up with a fairly clean house................

.............Did anyone catch one of these when they were around yesterday? I managed to snag one, I'm not exactly sure what I'm gonna use it for but a free 100 meg website is a good thing. Free is good.

Here's a newsflash......Wal Mart is still stingy with healthcare benefits. I work for a fairly large retailer and I pay about 10 bucks a week for very good medical, dental and prescription benefits for my entire family. Wal Mart makes it sound like they are giving their associates some great news when in reality, they are still cheap bastards.

If they want to be cheap bastards, that's perfectly ok with me but they oughta just be upfront about it. I'm just glad I don't work for them.

They're letting George go out of the country. I hope he doesn't start another war or something.

Bull riding for geeks.

This is an interesting article. I wonder if that's why I prefer working 3rd shift as opposed to working in the daytime. When I was working in the daytime, I was one of those folks that hit the sack no later then 9 PM and was always up by 4 AM. Some folks can never adjust to working at night, I have no problems at all with working at night and sleeping in the daytime.

Hows about a little bass with your music. I'll bet that set up would vibrate the paint off of the walls. Probably sounds like one of the many AC/DC concerts I've been to.

Today's science break.

Read the first sentence in this article a couple of times. Only 7 major attacks? In one day? I'm thinking someone in charge over there better had pull their head out of their ass for a few minutes and take a look around.

I'm sure Katie's parents are pleased beyond words.

This is cool, my parents have done this with our kids.

Our daughter has a high score of 102 on Bop It Extreme. Me? I've never tried it, but I'm guessing I'd get to about 5 or 6 before I got the "bzzzzt" loser sound.

That's all for now.........

Circadian rhythms

A few weeks ago, I was sleeping from noon until it was time to go to work in the evening. That was about 8 to 9 hours of sleep. Now, I am sleeping 2 hours less and going to sleep earlier. For some reason, I feel about 100% better on 2 hours less sleep.......... Works for me because I am so ready to get back out and do some riding. Yeah, I'm a fair weather rider........

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
I have one of those Circadian rhythm software thingies on my computer and I right now I am supposed to be feeling good physically and intellectually but not so good on the emotional part. Whatever, I think it's mostly bullshit but it's still fun to look at.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
This is a picture of our son I took 3 summers ago. One of my all-time favorite pictures, I took it down at Lake Redman. Here is a full size version. My reason for posting it? It cheers me up when I look at it because it reminds me of summer.

And our son.

And how much I love hanging out with him.

He's already past the "little kid" stage and is growing into a fine young man. Our daughter has long gone through that stage as well and she is quickly moving into the "adult" stage.

I can never really relate to couples that say they never want to have kids, as far as I'm concerned-kids keep you young.

Since I work for 11 days straight, I haven't had a chance to hike down at our local trails where all the logging has taken place-I plan to ride or hike there next weekend and take some pictures. The whole idea of our local water company letting a commercial logger come in and totally destroy what was once pristine woodland for money has me so pissed I could spit nails.

Not sure if our local paper cares or not, but I plan to call up an editor after I get some pictures taken and ask them if they want to see what the water company is up to.

I've been reading lots of other biker's blogs about all the road rage going on lately. I've had a few close calls but nothing major. I've given a few people the finger and that's about the worst of it. I figure the worst thing that's gonna happen is that a person will stop, get out of their car and confront me.

And then I'll find out if dog mace works on humans.

Sometimes a picture is worth ............

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
What do ya think the chances are he's a NASCAR fan?

I always wondered how they did that.

Mack The Knife was #1 when I was born. That makes me feel old.

I like this organization.

Fool me once...............public speaking certainly isn't one of his strong points.

How to use the bathroom at work. Part 2 here.

Home Gun Shopping Network. One of those certainly would take care of your home intrusion defense needs.

Next Tuesday is one of my least favorite days of the year. I'll make about 350 dozen of the greasy little buggers.

Been really watching what I eat and as a result.......I'm in another notch on my belt. Too bad I have absolutely no muscle tone in my legs, I am so gonna suck when I get back on the bike this spring. On the few rides I've done this winter, my buddy Hank motors away from me on hills like he's riding a motorcycle.

This is funny if you're a geek. What's even funnier is all the comments from everyone below the picture. Arguing on the internet is like hitting yourself in the face with a brick.

It only feels good when you stop.

Boring...........

Now I remember why I don't watch many NASCAR races.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
They're boring. I'll stick watching NHRA races and the occasional WRC race I catch on bit torrent. In another few weeks it's gonna be warm enough to start riding so it's gonna be a moot point anyways..............

I forgot to mention that the pic I had at the top of my post yesterday was sent to me from one of my friends in an e-mail. Thanks-you know who you is:-)

I was reading this article and thought to myself..........who the hell let this deal go through?

Over 1800 people died in the Philippines and you know what? 2 weeks from now, we won't ever hear about it again. Very sad how the media works.......

In other news, those crazy Muslims are still burning shit down. They sure don't have much of a sense of humor, do they?

Interesting take on modern TV.

I don't remember where I saw this, but everyone does it.

My four things list?

4 favorite TV shows?
-Mythbusters
-NHRA races
-American Chopper
-Overhaulin'

4 places I've been on vacation
-Niagra Falls
-Florida
-Myrtle Beach
-New Jersey

4 favorite foods
-pizza
-ice cream
-fried chicken
-fried anything

4 places I'd like to visit
-Virgin Islands
-South Pole
-Moon
-Vancouver

4 websites I like to visit
- Google News
-Topix.net
-Digg
-YouTube

4 things I wanna do before I die.
-bicycle across the US
-own a convertible
-celebrate 50 years of marriage
-sleep on the beach

Kinda boring list,huh?

This dude has one leg and rides for a living. (takes a few moments to load)

Jill finished her 100 mile race up in Alaska. Awesome job Jill!!!

Here's what the world needs........a 20 foot long 55,000 dollar pickup truck.

How cold is it?

9 degrees.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
6 or 8 weeks from now, it will all be a memory for another year, but right now 9 degrees kinda sucks ballsack.

Another thing that sucks is I just read on our club's website that a bunch of our trails in one of the county parks we ride in were logged and bulldozed. Since our local water company owns the property and our parks system leases the land from them........there ain't squat the parks can do about it.

I'd rather pay a few more bucks on my water bill and still have a quiet place to spend time then look at a mud covered , bulldozed hillside. Since most of York County has their fat asses firmly glued to their Lazy Boy's......they don't get outside much to notice that someday-they ain't gonna be any damn trees left.

Since our club president is also the president of our county parks board and the board is pretty tight with the water company, I guess he can't make much of a stink about without getting himself into hot water. Kinda sucks the whole way around.......

Speaking of being glued to a Lazy Boy recliner-I'm going to have to plead guilty later today, looks like it's gonna be a good race. My favorites? Mark Martin and Tony Stewart.

Till later.

60 degrees outside........

......but not for long. Here in York Pa, it was a balmy 60 degrees Thursday afternoon. I coulda went for a bike ride, but I went for a nice long walk with my wife. I think most of the snow will be melted before it goes back down to 20 degrees this weekend. Oh, the joys of winter weather.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Soon, it will be spring. Yay.

Today's art break.

Deep fried pizza......uuuurp.

How to make Garfield funny.

This looks like fun. I'd like to try it with school buses.

Ever wonder what happens to all the scissors, nail clippers and box cutters the government confiscates from you at the airport? Wonder no more. (Scroll down some on the page)

Muslim Man complaint box. A few F-bombs in the text.............

My boss is a scheduling wizard. I went to work the other night and found out she gave 3 of the 4 full timers in my department (including herself) off this weekend. Looks like I am running the show for the next 3 days. That oughta be interesting since I work 3rd shift and won't actually see any of the folks that work in the daytime.

Henry Rollins reads a book and gets into trouble. Like the article says, airport security is misguided.

I might own oceanside property soon.

Tasteless joke time........

Ralph arrived at his Internal Revenue Service audit accompanied by another man. The IRS guy assumed the other man was Ralph's attorney.

Going over his records, the IRS official said, "Well, sir, it appears that you live at a much higher level than your reported employment income. How do you explain that?"

Ralph replied, "I love to gamble and I usually win."

The skeptical official gave him a disbelieving look.

"I can prove it," said Ralph. "How about a demonstration?"

The official thought a moment and said, "Okay. Go ahead."

Ralph said, "I'll bet you a thousand dollars that I can bite my own eye."

The auditor thought a moment and said, "No way! It's a bet!"

Ralph removed his glass eye and bit it.

The official's jaw dropped. Ralph said, "Now, I'll bet you two thousand dollars that I can bite my other eye."

The official could tell Ralph wasn't blind, so he took the bet.

Ralph then removed his dentures and bit his good eye.

The stunned official was now three grand in the hole

"Want to go double or nothing?" Ralph asked. "I'll bet you six thousand dollars that I can stand on your desk and piss into that wastebasket by the door over there and never get a drop anywhere in between."

The auditor, twice burned, was cautious now, but there's no way this guy could manage that stunt, so he agreed again!

Ralph climbed up on the auditor's desk, missed the wastebasket completely, and pretty much peed all over the desk.

The official grinned. He had just turned a huge loss into a huge win! But then he noticed that Ralph's friend looked ashen and was visibly shaking.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

The man replied, "Not really. Before we arrived, Ralph bet me twenty thousand dollars he'd piss on your desk and you'd be happy about it!"

The NASCAR season starts up this Sunday with the Daytona 500. I used to watch all the races but I find that I end up watching the 500 and a few short track events now, just don't have the time to watch that much TV.

My sister-in-law had one of these for a couple years. She drove it in a few Cleveland winters so there wasn't much left of the bodywork when she got rid of it. The bottom 6 inches of sheet metal were literally gone by the time she traded it in on another fine car. A Plymouth Omni.

This doesn't surprise me one bit. I was in one of their stores a few weeks ago looking for a set of earbuds for my iPod. The salesman came over to assist me, he showed me what they had and then just stood there waiting for me to buy something. Didn't buy anything, I found what I was looking for at Circuit City for less money.

For my closing link, an amazing impersonation. SFW video on a possibly NSW website.

Of course I'm not serious...I don't have a dog.

For bonus points, does anyone know which magazine originally featured this picture on the front cover?

Mr "5 time draft deferment" talks to Fox. I love how the British media descibes Fox News.......I wonder who he's gonna shoot next week...............

I have to say.........I'm addicted. I used to be one of those guys that made fun of the show, but there are some very talented artists on the show.

iPods don't kill bicyclists, drivers talking on cellphones do. Listen in one ear and watch out for traffic.

I fell for it.

I went out and bought me one of those fancy motorized razors with 5 blades. I managed not to shave my lips off.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
My face is still ugly, but it's smooooooth.

Here's what's wrong with society here in America all in a few short sentences.

Check this out, anyone can publish a book. Maybe I'll do one on all my bikes.

Exactly how long are the Muslims gonna keep burning their own neighborhoods down? I mean seriously, if a newspaper here printed a cartoon showing Jesus with a bomb, sure folks would be upset but damn, I ain't gonna go burn my local 7/11 down. Give it a rest already,we have more important things to worry about.

"Passivity did the most damage" Duh. I sure hope they get done beating on each other soon and do something constructive.

One of my favorite bloggers is going on a 100 mile race this weekend........in Alaska. Jill, you are a stud!

Today's science break. That's one big ass storm.

I was trying to read this story but I couldn't pull my eyes off of the picture. That dude has some big hair.

I'm not the only person out there taking potshots (pun intended) at Darth Cheney.

..............damn, and I thought I could make it the whole way through a blog entry without making fun of someone in the Bush Administration.

Guess I was wrong.

I'll stop now, ...........honest.

Happy Valentines day ya'll..........

Happy Valentines to my mom, my daughter, my lovely wife and my mother-in-law. I am indeed a lucky boy. I made my daughter her favorite danish for breakfast and I also made my wife a croissant and washed her car for her this morning on the way home from work.

It's the little things that count.

Mom, if you're reading this, Ill call ya up later today....sorry, I didn't make you anything to eat:-(

I'm one of those fortunate guys that have a wonderful mother-in-law, I'll call her up as well and wish her a Happy Valentines.

........................................More on Dick Cheney's hunting skills......... Gotta point out that I had a comment on yesterday's blog entry calling me out for being ignorant. Lighten up Billy Bob, at least nobody got killed and Cheney ain't that great a hunter if he shot someone in the face. I have no problem if you wanna disagree with me, but don't call me ignorant and expect me to discuss something intelligently with you.

I'll probably take some flack for this from my daughter, but I like this guy. I can hardly wait for the movie. I'm sure there aren't many 46 year old Marilyn Manson fans.

I'm with the restaurant owner. I don't work in an eatery, but I see plenty of parents shopping with their kids at 11 or 12 at night on school nights. I hate to say it, but lots of parents don't teach their kids have to behave in public.

Houston is going to be a fun place to live this summer.

This is a neat idea. Getting a pair of them is something I am going to look into for next winter. I love being outside but road riding sucks when it's lower then 40 degrees and mountain biking is a pain in the ass in more then 3 or 4 inches of snow.

Faces of meth. If you ever thought about taking meth, check this website out first.

Another neat idea. I don't drink much beer, I'd have it set up to dispense iced tea or flavored water.

Iraqi infomercial.........gotta love The Onion.

I just love how the politicians are playing the "blame game" up in DC while tens of thousands of people in New Orleans are still without permanent shelter. Hurricane season starts back up in a couple months.....

This is a good article about Jesus. Jesus loves everybody..............even Dick Cheney.

The more I read about trans-fat, the more I feel like a crack dealer when I go to work and fry up donuts every night.

Interesting article about fast food sanitation. To be honest, the girls findings don't surprise me one bit. Ice machines are notorious for harboring molds and bacteria.

And on that note..........

Seeya.

Thank God for snowblowers........

I think we got about a foot of snow here in PA yesterday!

One benefit of having friends in high places is that I know several of the guys that work for the township and they usually divert their plows when they do our street so my driveway isn't buried.

Even so, I spent a good amount of time doing our neighbors sidewalks and driveway, he is 91 years old and he gets a kick out of watching everyone shovel the snow. Hell, when I get to 91, I plan to do the same thing.

It's going to be 50 degrees later this week, so the snow won't be around for long and that's A-OK with me because I am jonesing to get back on a bike.

What would I do with 245 million bucks? Mmmm, lets see...I think I would.....

-Build a moderately nice house with a very large garage for all my bikes and what-not.

-Donate 10% to my church and my wife's church.

-Donate some serious bucks to our County Park and our County Library system.

-Since I'm a motorhead, I'd have to pick up a few vehicles......
-67 GTO
-2006 Z06 Corvette
-Shelby Cobra
-one of those 4 door crew cab pick up trucks to haul my stuff around.

Yeah, that oughta do it. I'd also buy lots of bikes. Since even the most expensive bikes are only 10,000 dollars (most are less), I could have a whole pile of nice new shiny bikes to stare at and ride.

My wife and kids can spend the rest of the money......

Firefox is safer.

I just got done cleaning up a co-workers PC, He had all kinds of slop on his hard drive just from browsing the web. You'd think he was a freak with all the stuff he had collected, I checked his history file to see where he went and evidently he went to a few weird search sites and picked up CWS.

The truth is he's not a freak, he's a 60 year old grandfather studying Hebrew scripture, he's also a lay minister for his church and is going to college for a degree in Hebrew language. I fixed him up with the latest version of Firefox and some useful extensions, hopefully he'll be good to go.

I'm not a Dick supporter but in his defense, I'm sure he feels really bad about what happened over the weekend. Thank God it wasn't worse, I wonder where he learned how to handle a gun...........

The more I listen to Condoleezza, the more I like her.

This is a damn shame.

Asshole of the week. Thanks to Cycledog for the link.

My friend Will had a great time demoing new snowboards for his shop. I'm betting that he's pretty darn happy with this past weekend's snow accumulation.

You might notice some new pictures in my Flickr sidebar, our daughter went to NYC this weekend to see Monty Python's Spamalot. They just beat the blizzard coming home.

Tyler loses his appeal. I really want to believe he is innocent, but in the back of my mind........

Last link............Cookie Monster says the "F" word....totally family safe.......honest:-)

Oops........

Maybe I was wrong about that snowstorm............

As it stands now, it looks like we might get 10 to 12 inches of snow. As I was driving home from work this morning, at least 6 inches was on the road and it made it kinda tough to get home since I live at the top of a fairly large hill. My next vehicle is definitely going to have all-wheel drive.

Lots of folks that ride are anti-car and I am to a certain point but my favorite sport is coming off of their off-season this weekend.

Yeah, they go a 1/4 mile in less then 5 seconds and use about 8 gallons of fuel to do it.......I guess I'm a motorhead at heart. I've been to several races and nothing on earth is louder or accelerates faster........well, maybe one of the AC/DC concerts I've been to have been as loud.......

Just finished watching the Swedish Rally yesterday, those guys are NUTS. Cover your average logging road with glare ice and snow and then drive it at 80 mph.

At night.

They were hitting rises in the road and launching their cars airborne for a good forty or fifty feet. The next time I hear how tough the NASCAR boys have it, I'm just gonna laugh.

Here's a good story about lawn mowers and Wal-Mart. Me? I buy the 99 dollar one. The last expensive mower I had got destroyed when I attempted to mow through a 6 inch thick tree stump. I like the disposable ones much better.

Eat at McDonald's. That's just weird.

How come they didn't have this kind of stuff when I was a kid? Wait, I'm still about 12 on the inside.........maybe it's not too late.

My mom sent me this since I have so much respect for George Bush. Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing Condi get a crack at being President. She is an extremely intelligent person, so why not? I am neither Republican nor Democrat, I just want to see someone with some damn common sense be in charge.

I knew we were in trouble when George kept reading to the kids for 5 minutes on 9/11. God help us all that nothing happens to him until January 2007 because his replacement is a Dick.

I wonder if this is legal to use for deer hunting. Wouldn't be much deer left.............

Time to go blow some snow...........

Saturday, February 11, 2006

Another snow storm bites the dust.....

Our snow scare is going to turn out to be a paralyzing 3 to 6 inches. Folks at our store bought everything that wasn't bolted down.

God, I hate winter. It's not the crowds of people trying to buy the last roll of toilet paper that bother me, it's their "me first and screw everyone else" attitude.

Since most everyone drives one of those SUV's around here, I guess they where worried they might be stranded and not be able to get to a gas pump or be able to purchase toilet paper for a week.

I know I have some readers out in the Midwest, does this kind of stuff happen out there everytime the weather forcasters call for snow?

Does this suck or what? The dude gets to the ripe old age of 88 and he gets creamed by a garbage truck. Sometimes life ain't fair.

This is good, but when is Irish History Month?

Mr. "Racial Sensitivity" for 2006. What a dumbass.

Banjo Brothers on TV..........

I'm proud to say I am an "official product tester" for these guys........

I'm not the fastest bike rider or do I have the swankiest bikes, but I do have the swankiest messenger bag out there.

Very, very good quality products. If anyone that lives around where I live wants to borrow my messenger bag to try it out *shoot me an e-mail* I'd be more then happy to lend it out so ya'll can see what I'm talkin' about.

No, it's not my cake..........

Here's some soda to go with the cake. Check out all the crazy varieties!

I like this version of the State of the Union address. It's not P.C. (Take a few seconds to download)

Transfat. I use a 50 pound block of the stuff every night when I make donuts.....yum.

Hmmm.....Something smells fishy here.

Looks like we here on the East coast might get pounded by a snow storm this weekend. I know all the readers of my blog out in Minneapolis and Alaska wouldn't even sweat 8 to 12 inches of snow, but everything here pretty much grinds to a halt when it snows that much.

I'm hoping to get out Sunday or Monday to take a hike in the woods and get some good snow pictures..........

Having owned several Wal-Mart bikes in my lifetime, I'd say the QR problem is the least of their worries. The last bike I bought for my son needed about 2 hours of work before it was rideable. Just about everything that could be out of adjustment was out of adjustment.

That's about it for today........gotta get some gas for the snowblower.....

I'm Irish...........

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Figured I might as well start this post out with a picture.

Who doesn't like pictures?

Actually I saw this as a graphic you could buy on a T-shirt. I was tempted to get one but my wife would probably disavow knowing me.

Here is reason #3794 why there will never be peace in the Middle East. Sure, the cartoons might have been in poor taste, but burning down buildings and killing people over them? Damn.

I'm not British and I don't know any folks from England but their police seem really anal. Gotta thank Tim for the linkie.

Jimmie Carter probably isn't going to go down in history as one of the country's best Presidents but he always says what's on his mind.

Holy shit, are these people real?

These have to be some of the dumbest people living on the planet.

80 inch trousers? That's gonna be one big-ass hole in the ground.

Today's science break.

Islam has jumped the shark. You don't see Catholics or Protestants burning down embassies and killing folks over cartoons. We just burn each others churches down.

I really think George is back on the bottle.

I bet GM goes bankrupt before the year is out. Darn shame for all the retirees.

So far the new comment system thingie seems to be working fine, I haven't seen any comment spam yet.............

Our cat continues to acclimate itself to it's new surroundings. She doesn't run in the other direction when she sees me nearly as much as she used to. I've never seen a cat before that loves to get it's belly rubbed so much.

Five blades? How many damn blades will they stop at? I have one of those razors with 3 blades and it's already easy enough to shave a lip off.

Ya'll have to check out this blog post from fellow bike blogger Matt. It outlines our country's energy policy over the past 30 years. Very well written-a must read.

I haven't been out on the bike since last Thursday's ride-the temps are back down in the 20's in the morning.........just too darn cold for my 46 year old knees.

Wow, these are some amazing photos taken in China.

I really don't care much for Tom Cruise but here's another spoof of Brokeback Mountain.

Damn Lutherans...............

Steelers win the Commercial Bowl........

I have to be honest, I only watched the first 3 quarters and I went to bed. It's hard to believe that advertisers paid 2 1/2 million bucks for 30 seconds of time. I liked most of the commercials but my favorite ones are usually the ones from Budweiser. Too bad for them I don't drink very much beer.

I thought the Rolling Stones half-time show was boring as hell. Just like last year when they had Paul McCartney. Ummm....is there some sort of reason they don't have an AMERICAN recording artist do the deal at half-time? Sure, they might not want to have any of the Jacksons have anything to do with it ever again, maybe they could have one of those rap stars do it. Or not.

Anyone actually go to Washington last week to see the State of the Union address? I understand that they have redone Congress..........

You can tell Bush isn't worried about getting re-elected. Kinda sucks if you are 65 or older, a college student or someone that has to pay taxes. That would be everyone I suppose.

I had something interesting happen to me at the local convenience store on Sunday morning. Some guy standing outside was panhandling. Wanna know how much he was asking for?

10 bucks.

10 BUCKS?

What, is the guy out of his mind?

Thing is, he was talking on a cell phone and stopped talking long enough to ask me for 10 dollars for a cab ride.

Start walking pal.

Here's a couple of computer crashes. I woulda liked to have done that with our first computer.

Here's a news flash......radical Muslims are rednecks. And most American newspapers are spineless.

This guy is lucky he didn't try that where I work.

French fry encrusted corn dogs. Yum. Sheryl probably doesn't appreciate me posting that link:-)

"We are all brack people". A very good example of "Engrish"

Comments on the new comment system.......

I'm trying a different comment system for this blog, lemme know if it works well or is a pain. It was super easy to install, just a few clicks (auto install if you use Blogger) and I was done.

If it works here without me getting alot of comment spam I'll be happy:-) It would be nice if everyone using Blogger would switch, putting in those text strings everytime I want to comment on someone's blog is a pain in the hiney.......................

.............................This has got to be one of the weirdest advertising campaigns for vodka I've ever seen. NSFW due to language. It's not very P.C. either. Actually, it's not P.C. at all.

I'd like to see that happen.

Go here to see some Go Daddy TV ads that were denied. Yikes.

Damn. I want to get a job at Google, check out all this food. I wonder if they need anyone to make donuts?

A 26 foot long poop? I wonder who cleaned up the bowling alley. What possessed someone to make a 26 foot long turd?

I like this bumper sticker. From your friends at Landover Baptist Church.

Except billboards.

Brokeback to the Future.

This is all kinds of awesome. A squirrel catapult. Only one squirrel was harmed in the making of this video. He only had a headache afterwards. Honest. I think.

Useful tool for decoding IP addresses. It's up to you as to what to do with it:-)

Molly lets George have it.

This is pretty neat. Who woulda thunk it was possible 25 years ago?

Which exit do you get off?

My favorite? The Flying Spaghetti Monster emblem, of course.

I didn't die or anything........I'm pretty pleased

Had a great ride yesterday morning. Colder then I thought it was going to be, the bank thermometer was right at 36 degrees.

I was jonesing for a ride really bad, I think it could have been 10 degrees and I would have been okay with it. It felt great to get out and get some fresh air. We only did about 20 miles but it was worth putting on all the warm weather clothes.

The good news is that I have lost over 10 pounds since January 1st, the bad news is that I really, really, really suck at riding up hills. My buddy seriously kicked my ass anytime we went up a hill. I thought he had a jet pack or something. No where to go but up.

I see the Saddam trial is working out very well. What a cluster.

"Since when is free speech conditional on whether you agree with the president?" I'm not 100% in agreement with everything that Cindy Shehan says, but she's got a pretty damn good point this time.

Leave it to a bunch of tree-huggers to screw up one of Pennsylvania's last good reasons to take a day off in the middle of the week to watch a bunch of drunk old men fondle a groundhog. It's all a bunch of nonsense anyways.....

I bag on George Bush a lot in this blog, but after reading this article, I'm wondering if he isn't sitting in the Oval Office banging down shots of Jim Beam and rolling doobies. Did anyone tell him what a mess the new prescription plan for senior citizens is?

........and he wants to screw around with MY healthcare benefits? I don't think so. Why can't he just focus on the economy and getting the hell out of Iraq?

Can't someone down there in Washington give him a few pointers on what American's really want? What do I want? I wanna be left the hell alone. Let me pay my taxes and you folks down there in Washington get your heads out of your asses and run this country-not other countries halfway around the world.

Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox now. Feel free to let me have it in the comments section if I've pissed you off.

I know a couple engineers that will like this picture.......

So what's the phone number? I'm too lazy to figure it out.

Congratulations. If you are reading this, you're not a dumbass.

Damn. Those folks sure don't have much of a sense of humor. I'm Irish. Think I oughta go on a rampage when St. Patrick Day rolls around and I see a cartoon of some fat dumb Irishman drinking a beer?

iPods cause hearing loss? No way! I love it when the lawyers get involved so we don't hurt ourselves. I listen to mine at a low enough volume that I can hold a conversation with someone but if I want to make myself deaf-I should have that right. Dumb people should be allowed every opportunity possible to take themselves out of the gene pool.

Torrents and lots of'em. Not that any of ya'll would do anything illegal with them.

Valentines Day is soon coming, make sure you buy your sweetie a decorated Valentine's Day donut. That's right, I make donuts for every holiday. Am I going to buy my wife a donut for V Day? Ummm, probably not. I think I'll stick to flowers or something.

Till later.........

Hand me my ass.

Not much to say this morning.

Going to go out on ride.

I'm going to get my ass handed to me by one of my friends.

If I live through the experience, I'll report back later..........

Tourettes guy......

We have a regular customer that has Tourette's Syndrome. I am well aware that T.S. is a serious condition, but I have the damnedest time keeping a straight face when this fellow talks to me. He's a heck of a nice guy, it's just hard not to laugh when he's talking and he inserts random profanities into his sentences.

My point?

None really. It's just that for some reason, the guy's voice, speech pattern and accent reminds me of George Bush. I suppose I have a warped sense of humor. I'm guessing that I'm not gonna be needing a whole lot of cold weather gear after I die.

This article got my attention. I know our club does lots of trailwork and builds lots of trails. Our club does carry insurance but that wouldn't stop someone from suing.......anybody can sue anyone.

Reading this post from a fellow bike blogger reminded me of Christmas Eve 2003. I was accosted by a large dog in our local park when I was out riding.

Not sure where the owner of this dog was, but it wouldn't back off and kept growling and snapping at me and it was a big dog. I put my bike between me and the dog, picked up a grapefruit sized rock, threw it and bounced it off the dogs head.

Lucky shot for me, not so lucky for the dog. I didn't kill it or anything, but I'm sure it had one hell of a headache after it was done yelping.

This looks like a way cool bike shop. I can't complain, we have some good shops around here as well. My friend Will runs one and I shop at this one also. Support your local shops.

Washington is full of little kids. No wonder this country is going to hell in a hand basket, everyone in Congress is spending all day online. What a bunch of assholes.

Nice.........when can I move in?

Larry The Cable Guy sings some Christmas songs. SFW sorta.

This has been around for awhile. Still funny as hell.

One hole I wouldn't want to make.

Our son had a series of 28 test shots up and down both arms yesterday at the allergy doctor. He is one tough 12 year old. I'd be begging for mercy after that many shots. I suppose he really loves his sister to undergo all the allergy tests because that was the only way we could get a cat.

What's a little ironic is that Katie is slightly allergic to the cat and is taking Flonase.....

It's Super Bowl time. Who is going to win? Who gives a shit, my wife and I watch it every year for the commercials. And how come the pre-game show comes on 9 hours before the game?

I missed listening the the President's State of the Union address last night, I was busy making donuts. Here's an overview........... I'm wondering how many times he said the word "terror"? To me, it doesn't matter that Bush is Republican or Democrat......he's just a terrible leader.

Nice read about one of my favorite TV shows.

I love this blog post from CycleDog. I'm the guy that doesn't smoke, drink, gamble, hunt, fish or womanize. I've been a good boy, can I have a new bike?

Till later.
