It appears New Orleans is in serious trouble. Here's a thought...........pump the place full of water and forget about it.
Sure, I know 10's of thousands of homes would have to be abandoned, but would it be cheaper to just rebuild somewhere else where it's not 20 feet below sea level? After all, the sea level is going up, not down.
............just a thought.

You know... it's an interesting thought. Our 5 year old said this while hearing about New Orleans yesterday, "I think they should give their city back to the ocean... it's too close, all the people don't like wet stuff and all their stuff IS wet now!".
Give all the people of New Orleans a chunk of land in Northern Louisee-anna and a voucher for $10,000.00... as well as an option to pass on the hunk o' land and cash it in for an additional 10k and call it all a day. Kind of a "sorry-but-this-living-below-sea-level

If I lived in N.O. I sure as shit wouldn't EVER rebuild there again... I mean, come on... this could happen again in less than 12 months!
